We are very pleased to announce a very special luminary guest who will be joining us at Anthrocon 2016. Mr. Trevor Devall is a prolific voice actor who hails originally from Canada, where he spent fifteen years as a voice-over artist before relocating to Los Angeles, CA. His credits include My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Lego Star Wars, and a host of characters for the Marvel universe including, most recently, Rocket Raccoon on the animated Guardians of the Galaxy.
Not only will Anthrocon 2016 be our twentieth annual Anthrocon, it will be our 10th anniversary of moving to the wonderful City of Pittsburgh.
We will see you there no later than Thursday, June 30th, 2016 until Sunday, July 3rd, 2016.
Hi, and welcome to the 2015 edition of the Anthrocon Charity Events Followup!
Anthrocon raised a new record total of $35,910 for The Western PA Humane Society, our supported charity this year. Thanks very much to Sarah Shively and all their volunteers who came out to participate!
We also set new records for money raised in the Raffle and the Bucket Brigade!
More special thanks are in order to the following groups and individuals:
* To all the donors who contributed artwork, merchandise, and memorabilia to the auction and raffle, and to all those who both bid at the auction and bought raffle tickets.
* To the Dorsai Irregulars, Anthrocon's security contingent, who contributed the Elevator Golden Ticket for 2016 and raised additional funds at the elevators.
* To Dr. Samuel Conway and 2, the Ranting Gryphon, for their charity performance for which all ticket sales were donated to charity. Also, again to Dr. Conway for his annual auctioneering skills.
* To all the fursuiters who volunteered their time for fursuit "bucket brigade" duties, with special thanks to Winter Skywere who shouted himself hoarse around the Dealers Room for hours and hours raising bucket money - an above and beyond effort!
* To the Westin, Omni, DoubleTree, and the Courtyard, who each generously offered up a four-night stay during Anthrocon 2016.
* To all the attendees who bought merchandise and made cash donations to the Western PA Humane Society's donations box at their table, which is always a large percentage of the total funds raised.
* To the generosity of attendees at our Closing Ceremonies, who donated more than $1000 on their way out the door.
I would like to give thanks to my staff who helped conduct both the charity auction and raffle. None of this could've occurred without the assistance of Mike "Mrianti" Pierce, Trevor "Mr. Mutt" Boyd, Tracey "Stormy" Bealer, and Tamarie "CelticKitty" Simmons.

Another year of Anthrocon has some and gone! And it was our biggest year yet!
The final numbers for the Charity will be posted soon as soon as a final count of donations is performed. The number of attendees is slightly off from what we announced at Closing Ceremonies—we forgot to exclude a few badges that weren’t picked up. (Sorry, our bad!)

There are way too many people to thank to list them all here—but a few people we’d like to thank are our volunteers and staff, and our panelists and performers, our hotels such as The Westin Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Omni, Visit Pittsburgh, and of course the City of Pittsburgh itself. We couldn’t have done it without all of you.
Our staff will be taking a bit of a rest before gearing up for the 2016 convention, but we will return to Pittsburgh from June 30th through July 3rd, 2016. Next year’s theme will be "Roaring Twenty"—in honor of it being our 20th Anthrocon.

As we do every year, we have several huge boxes of people's personal property that was inadvertantly misplaced at Anthrocon 2015 and turned in by helpful and caring attendees to our operations office. If you are missing something, please send an email to CEO at ANTHROCON.ORG with the words LOST AND FOUND prominently displayed in the subject line. PLEASE include a description of what you lost in as much detail as you can, along with your full, real name and current mailing address, and if we have it, we will ship it back to you at no charge (unless you're the person who lost the steamer trunk. We'll talk).
In brief, we have the following types of items:
Fursuit accessories (tails, claws, teeth, ears, etc.)
Character badges (if you can provide a link to a picture of your character, that would help identify it!)
Articles of clothing (hats, shirts, belts, gloves, etc.)
A steamer trunk (we'll talk)
Sketchbooks (WHEN ARE PEOPLE GOING TO LEARN TO PUT THEIR NAMES IN THEM?? )
And some things that don't quite fit into any category, but we've got them anyway.
Greetings! It's almost time for Anthrocon 2015 and many of us (including the convention staff) are either on our way to Pittsburgh, or will be heading there soon.
If you need to speak with the convention staff, sending us emails may result in a delay before we reply, so stopping by the Convention Operations office in the Crawford Room of the Westin or Room 309 in the Convention Center is recommended.

The familiar "Rocking Pittsburgh" T-shirt, with artwork by Tani Da Real, will once again be available locally. You can find it at the Westin's gift shop, or at the Hudson News stores at Pittsburgh Airport if you're flying in. It's available in the traditional black, but also in the spiffy tiger-striped pattern pictured at right!
Remember, this isn't for sale at Anthrocon at all. This is a city initiative, and we're proud to be supporting the local businesses. So get'em while supplies last!
Anthrocon 2015 is just over a week away!
As in previous years, we will have the Convention Operations Hotline up and running again. The hotline opens on the Wednesday afternoon of each convention, and shuts down the Monday morning following the convention. During that time period, the hotline is manned 24 hours a day by convention staff, who can answer any questions that you may have. (Calls made outside of those dates will go straight to voicemail, and we recommend that you send email instead)
