Dear Brian:
On behalf of the K-9 FRIENDS, Visiting Therapy Dogs, I want to thank you
and Anthrocon again for choosing us to be the recipients of your
gracousness. Marilyn, Tess and I really enjoyed meeting you and all of
your members. They were very, very nice. I'm sure the dogs enjoyed all
of the attention you gave them.
If you could, please provide me with a contact for your newsletter. I
would like to write a short article, again, in appreciation.
As Tess said, "it's not us who benefit from this money, it's the people
we visit." The Albany area K-9 FRIENDS will benefit by providing more
funds for advertisement of therapy dogs. There are 2 things I can now do
that I couldn't before. I can provide all members with t-shirts, like
the one I was wearing. Also, there are facilities we've been visiting
since 1993. I will now be able to have a good sized picture of the
regular volunteers and their dogs taken and framed so they can hang it up
in their lobby.
Since I have moved from the Albany area to Massena, which is up by the
Canadian border, I now have the money to advertise for more therapy dogs
here in the US and maybe I can extend it to Canada.
I have been able to reimburse some members for the money they have spent
from their own pocket on therapy dog promotion and testing. I have also
donated money to the local Albany area rescue dog organization.
Thanks again for making all of this possible for K-9 FRIENDS.
