Convention Book (conbook) Questions
Each year, Anthrocon produces a convention book highlighting current writing and artistic talent, plus comes packed with helpful and interesting articles. These are distributed to all of our attendees at the convention.
The theme for our 2010 convention is "Modern Stone-Age Furries." While this is not a requirement, conbook submissions that fit this theme tend to be given higher priority for publication.
All submissions should be in the 'G' to 'PG-13' rating.
Conbook submission(s) AND release form must be RECEIVED by us no later than April 26, 2010.
We strongly encourage electronic submission of material. Please see the Conbook Submission Guidelines for complete details on file formats and specifications. You may upload submissions and release forms to our upload site located at http://tinyurl.com/yakjf76
Yes. You may either send your scanned release form to the upload site at http://tinyurl.com/yakjf76 or e-mail it to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note release forms must contain an actual signature. (Typing your name in the form is not valid.)
No. You may include multiple submissions on the same release form. (Use the back of the release form if additional space is needed.)
Your submissions cannot be entered into our database and tracked without a completed release form. If we do not have a completed release form on file by the deadline, we cannot enter you in the drawing or use your submission(s). A release form is available online at http://www.anthrocon.org/conbook-submission-release-form
Simply send us artwork and/or writing submission(s) according to the conbook guidelines (i.e., properly formatted, signed release form, &c.). You get one entry into the drawing per submission, so send as many as you like!
No. The drawing and selection of conbook material are two separate processes. The drawing is conducted before selection of conbook material begins.

If your work contains copyrighted characters that are not yours, then you must obtain written permission to use those characters or likeness from the copyright holder and submit it with the release form. Anthrocon is unable to use any works without this additional release.
We will attempt to notify you via e-mail that your submission has been received. You can e-mail us at email@example.com to ask if your submission was received, or send us a SASE with your release form.
Due to deadlines, it is difficult to inform content creators if their work has been selected for publication prior to the convention. We make changes to the conbook right up to (and sometimes after) the conbook has been submitted to the printer.
In efforts to keep costs down, we have discontinued the post-convention mailing of conbooks to all contributors. However, extra copies may be obtained at the convention from the Publications Director after Closing Ceremonies. If you are not attending the convention and would like one sent, one will be mailed to you after the convention upon request.
Publications-related correspondence only can be sent to:
