  • What is the theme for the conbook this year?
  • The theme for our 2010 convention is "Modern Stone-Age Furries." While this is not a requirement, conbook submissions that fit this theme tend to be given higher priority for publication.

  • What is the rating for submissions to the conbook?
  • All submissions should be in the 'G' to 'PG-13' rating.

  • When is the conbook deadline?
  • Conbook submission(s) AND release form must be RECEIVED by us no later than April 26, 2010.

  • Where do I send conbook submissions?
  • We strongly encourage electronic submission of material. Please see the Conbook Submission Guidelines for complete details on file formats and specifications. You may upload submissions and release forms to our upload site located at http://tinyurl.com/yakjf76
Alternately, you may send submissions via US Mail to:

    Anthrocon - Publications Department
    c/o Karl Jorgensen
    P. O. Box 4211
    Leesburg, VA 20177

  • Can I send my release form electronically?
  • Yes. You may either send your scanned release form to the upload site at http://tinyurl.com/yakjf76 or e-mail it to book-2010@anthrocon.org. Please note release forms must contain an actual signature. (Typing your name in the form is not valid.)

  • Do I have to send a release form for each submission?
  • No. You may include multiple submissions on the same release form. (Use the back of the release form if additional space is needed.)

  • What happens if I don't send a release form?
  • Your submissions cannot be entered into our database and tracked without a completed release form. If we do not have a completed release form on file by the deadline, we cannot enter you in the drawing or use your submission(s). A release form is available online at http://www.anthrocon.org/conbook-submission-release-form

  • How do I enter the Supersponsorship drawing?
  • Simply send us artwork and/or writing submission(s) according to the conbook guidelines (i.e., properly formatted, signed release form, &c.). You get one entry into the drawing per submission, so send as many as you like!

  • Does my submission have to be published in the conbook to win the drawing?
  • No. The drawing and selection of conbook material are two separate processes. The drawing is conducted before selection of conbook material begins.

  • Does winning the drawing mean my submission will be published?
  • No. The drawing and selection of conbook material are two separate processes.

  • Can I submit work created by someone else?
  • No.

  • Can I submit work that has someone else's character in it?
  • If your work contains copyrighted characters that are not yours, then you must obtain written permission to use those characters or likeness from the copyright holder and submit it with the release form. Anthrocon is unable to use any works without this additional release.

  • Was my submission received?
  • We will attempt to notify you via e-mail that your submission has been received. You can e-mail us at book-2010@anthrocon.org to ask if your submission was received, or send us a SASE with your release form.

  • Was my submission selected for publication the conbook?
  • Due to deadlines, it is difficult to inform content creators if their work has been selected for publication prior to the convention. We make changes to the conbook right up to (and sometimes after) the conbook has been submitted to the printer.

  • Will I get a copy of the finished conbook?
  • In efforts to keep costs down, we have discontinued the post-convention mailing of conbooks to all contributors. However, extra copies may be obtained at the convention from the Publications Director after Closing Ceremonies. If you are not attending the convention and would like one sent, one will be mailed to you after the convention upon request.

  • What is your mailing address?
  • Publications-related correspondence only can be sent to:

    Anthrocon - Publications Department
    c/o Karl Jorgensen
    P. O. Box 4211
    Leesburg, VA 20177

Note this is different than the main Anthrocon address.
