Registration Questions

Yes! In fact we encourage our attendees to register via our fast and secure online registration process if at all possible. It will allow us to make sure your badge and information is prepared and you will be able to go through the much faster pre-registration lines to
obtain your badge.

Yes. We accept mail-in registration. The register online to reduce the load on our registration volunteers.

Of course! Registration at the door for an attending membership will be $50. You can get in cheaper by pre-registering, though. Unfortunately, the line for door-registrations is typically the longest at the convention. To avoid this and if it is possible, we ask that our attendees register online to reduce the load on our registration volunteers.

Yes. One-day registrations are available at the door for $25. Please remember you will need proper identification to be able to register.

If you are a pre-registered sponsor or supersponsor, you can visit the Butler Room on the 2nd floor of the Westin Hotel. All others can pick up their badges, or purchase new badges, on the 3rd floor. Note: Once the majority of pre-registered sponsors and supersponsors have picked up their badges, we usually shift badge pickup for these members to the third floor as well.

We need government-issued photo ID so that we can make sure nobody other than you is trying to pick up your badge, or register in your name. A driver's license, state-issued ID card, or passport is usually sufficient. If you do not have any of the above, we still need something with your photo on it that will confirm your identity and your date of birth. Contact registration-2008(at)anthrocon.org if you are unsure.

Yes. Refund requests can be handled at registration-2008(AT)anthrocon.org until the close of pre-registration. At that point (June 6th) we will be unable to offer refunds. Please note that we are no longer able to offer deferred memberships. If you cannot attend the convention, you must tell us prior to June 6th. After that, we are unable to offer refunds either (honestly, the money is already spent at that point).

While other conventions require you to register both as a dealer and an attendee, Anthrocon does not require this. If you registered as a Dealer, or have been registered as a Dealer's Assistant, you will have full and unfettered access to the convention without having to purchase any memberships or pay any additional fees. The "Dealer" or "Dealer Assistant" label simply grants you special access into the dealer's space during set-up and tear-down periods.

After registrations are entered into our system, they is processed in batches. At the time your registration is processed, your credit card will be billed and an email will be sent to the email account you provided for us. This automated email will confirm your membership and the details of the data you provided us. Within a few weeks you should also receive a paper receipt.

Yes. You can verify the status of memberships purchased on your credit card via our online verification system.

Yes. All you need is a form of legal identification with your photo on it. The receipt is helpful, but not required.

You can upgrade your membership at any time. Be aware, though, that due to catering logistics, we can only offer the supersponsor luncheon to those who pre-register as supersponsors!

Upgrading your membership is as easy and dropping a letter into the mail. Let us know what your current membership level is and the level to which you wish to upgrade. Enclose payment in the form of a check, a money order, or a legible photocopy of your credit card (along with its billing address). If upgrading to a sponsorship or a supersponsorship, make sure to tell us what your T-shirt size is! NOTE! Pre-registration ends at 11:59 PM on Friday, June 6! We must receive your upgrade request via email before then, and we must receive payment in the mail before Wednesday, June 20.

We welcome attendees of all ages. People under 18 will, however, have to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, or have a signed and notarized permission form (pdf). We apologize if this is an inconvenience, but unfortunate situations in prior years have made this policy necessary. We strongly recommend that you make a copy of
the notarized form and send it to us ahead of time if you pre-register. In any case, you must bring the original to the convention with you.

No. If you are an adult as of opening-ceremonies of the convention you will not need the form. If you are not an adult as of that time, you will be required to have a notarized minor conscent form even if you become an adult during the course of the convention.

We accept government-issued ID that bears both your picture and your date of birth. Examples are a valid driver's license, a passport, or a state-issued ID card. A school ID is not acceptable on its own. We would want some form of secondary ID to go along with it.

We suggest that you find some form of photo I.D. We can not admit anyone who is not able to show legal identification. Most states offer I.D. cards for people who do not wish to or are unable to obtain a drivers' license. If you cannot obtain a state-issued photo I.D., we will need some form of official I.D. that bears your picture (a school I.D., for example) and a second piece of identification that bears your date of birth (a birth certificate, for example). If you are in doubt, then bring as many pieces of identification as you can get your hands on.

Anthrocon registrations are processed in batches. Please be patient and allow at least three weeks before inquiring about the status of your membership. This is especially true for mail-in registrations.

We can not accept PayPal payments due to excessive surcharges and other concerns with that service.

Sorry, no. Anthrocon is a 501(c)7 organization. That means it falls under the same category as "fraternal organizations," since we felt that we really do not meet the Federal standards of a "pure public charity" or an "educational institution." Donations to Anthrocon are not deductible from Federal taxes.
