This forum serves the following purpose:

- If you have a room and are looking for someone to share it with you to help cut down on expenses, you can use this forum to find someone willing to do so.

These forums have been very useful in the past for many of our members. In order that they remain useful, we ask that users observe some simple points of courtesy:

1) When announcing that you have space in a room, be certain to state how many people you are looking for, which days you have the room booked, and any gender-restrictions or other limitations that apply.

2) Details of the rooming arrangement should be kept strictly to email or private messages. Anthrocon's administration will delete any postings that we feel are providing Too Much Information such as to be an affront to the sensitivities of those perusing these boards. This board is meant to help our members find affordable sleeping space; it is not a Singles Bar.

3) Please only respond in the affirmative. It is a waste of time (and bandwidth) for you to post "sorry, can't help you." It's also a little mean, as the hopeful poster will see a followup to his message and think that he has found a roommate, only to be rudely disappointed.

4) Once you have found a roommate, please comment on your post to that effect. It will help us keep the forums from getting cluttered if we can remove months-old posts from people who are already set. The less cluttered the forums, the easier it will be for people to find the information they are looking for.

5) Keep in touch with your potential roommate! Plans change, particular if you make your arrangements many months in advance. If you have committed to offer a room to someone, they should be the first ones to know about any change in plans. Anthrocon is providing this board as a courtesy to our members and offers no guarantees of delivery, and cannot be involved in any disputes arising from the use of this service. We encourage our members to practice appropriate prudence in agreeing to offer or accept offers of crash space from persons unknown to them. Our best advice is to have a fall-back plan if your roommate is forced to cancel with only a few days to go.

6) Make sure that all details of the arrangement are agreed upon in advance. Will you have a bed or floor space? Is the cost share equally? Will there be smoking permitted? Who else will be in the room? When is everyone else arriving?

7) The maximum number of people permitted by local ordinance in a given room is FOUR. No one is likely to notice a fifth person hiding under the bed, but if you make it apparent that there are more than a reasonable number of people in the room, the hotel has an obligation to do something about it. Please, use common sense.

Cool Important disclaimer: Anthrocon provides this board purely as an informational service. We accept no liability for any damages or loss or equity that arises from any rooming arrangements made between Anthrocon members, nor do we offer any guarantees of any kind on the suitability or reliability of potential roommates. We expect our members to exercise appropriate prudence in offering sleeping space to strangers.
