As many folks know, I'm the "Programming Puppy" for Anthrocon. Programming for this event takes up a huge amount of my time in the evenings....sometimes much to the chagrin of folks coming over to hang out with me socially. Well, the final proof for the schedule has been sent to the AC track leads for one final lookover. Once I get final approval, off it goes to be formatted and printed. This one has been a real boogerbear...due to the GoH schedules and just the sheer number of events that can't overlap. I hafta tell you, I don't know when I've ever been so pleased with the variety of events I've had to work with. I hope that Anthrocon's attendees will be happy with some of the amazing events that are on the docket this year. Here's a little sneak peak at some events I think are absolutely sensational additions this year (note..these are NEW additions to programming....many of the panels and events you loved from last year are returning..I just want to give folks an idea what is new this year): Guest of Honor Appearances - Fursuit Track: The Fursuit Meet and Greet - Set up this year as a more social event, we will have music and fun for Fursuiters to kick off their Anthrocon experience. Fursuit Dodgeball - Yep...there will be a fursuit dodgeball game. Puppet Track: The Funday Pawpet Show - The internet show that's been running for 7 years is returning to AC with 5 of it's major performers in attendance. This will be the first time in years that the Funday Show will be doing a live performance outside of Florida. Three Short Puppet Plays - A fun new programming item that will be loads of fun! Art Track: Intro to Sculpture - Offered for those who wish to dabble in sculptural media. Drawing Facial Expressions - Susan Rankin is going to offering this great panel on bringing those facial expression to life. Drawing Males / Drawing Females: Vince Suzukawa from "The Class Menagerie" and Susan Rankin from "A Doemain of Our Own" are offering complimentary panels that will help aspiring artists draw male and female characters. I'm really excited to see two great artists form the fandom holding these sessions! Social Track: DJ Rory's Funk Party: A dance atmosphere with a funky flair! This will be a fursuit friendly event with lots of fun funk music to dance to! Furry Stumpers!: Think about an old pub table quiz...only not in a pub Performance Track: 2 Sense Live! - This is not the same as 2's Rant. That event will be held in the evening. This is an actual taping of a 2 Sense Show to be aired and loaded to 2's web site. This is an Anthrocon first! Music Track: The Anthrocon Music Festival: A collection of musicians will be performing for you! From keyboards to a drum jam and different things in between...this should be a fun and entertaining event for anyone! Animals Track: African Animals Roundtable: This panel will be an open discussion on the various fauna and environments of the African continent. Anyone is welcome! Science/Technology Track: Radio Furs: There has been an explosion of interest among furries in communicating via HAM radio. This panel will help those who share this interest communicate and give information to those who wish learn and join this exciting new community. This event will precede the first of the weekend's radio "Fox Hunts". And all of this is just a sample of what's on the schedule! Remember, many of your favorite events from last year like Uncle Kage's Story Hour, 2's Rant, Anthropoly - The Anthrocon Game Show, The Masquerade, the Fursuit Parade, the Fursuit Games, and lots more are returning! Keep an eye on the Anthrocon web site for the full schedule posting! It'll be coming up soon! KP |

Wow... *HUGZ* Congrats!
So this means you've got nothing left to do for AC and can go back to being social now, right? I've heard that's all you programming directors do...

I wish. I still am working out a few conflicts/snags in the schedule.
T'is the thing many folks don't see about scheduling. When one event moves, it can cause ripples that affect multiple events because of who's running them/space or equip requirements, et al.
Hopefully, I'll have this completed soon and ready for posting.
