That...um....doesn't seem all that zany to me.
I have a long-standing tradition of terrifying nightmares for about three weeks after the con.

Mine is to drive to AC and leave a bagged, bulk pound of gummi bears in the car over the weekend so that it melts and fuses into a solid blob in the sun.
mmm... Anthrocon gummi blob *drools*
Though... Last year? Not so much due to the whole 'in the garage' thing...

Does spending the two weeks before the con pulling at my hair and questioning everything I'm preparing or packing count?
How about the whole "What the HECK did I forget" thing I usually have going on the trip there?

Yeah. Working cons that I attend.
There's something seriously wrong with me, I know.

I don't think I'd know how to enjoy myself at a con if I WEREN'T working...
I mean, without those brief moments of pseudo-sobriety, I don't think I'd survive the weekend!

I have a tradition of spending the weeks leading up to the con making a schedule covering every hour of the weekend, which allows me to hit every event and panel I want to be at...
And then throwing the schedule out the window and hanging with friends.

If driving, I have a long standing tradition of "hitting the road" at midnight before the con. Typically this means I leave home when there aren’t many other people on the road, and I arrive at the destination in daylight. Mostly I do this to ensure that I’m driving in daylight when in unfamiliar territory. It's very frightening to be lost on the road after dark.
That may not seem that zany.... hmm... oh
I keep a stuffed plush raccoon in the passenger seat (seat belted) while I drive.
Although he isn’t a very good navigator, he at least makes for decent company during the long drive.

Probably doesn't argue with you over control of the stereo, either. *grin*

permalinkActually I too depend heavily on Subway, for almost all of my meals. I know the menu well, I know what I want for each part of the day, and I know it fills well. It's been a tradition of mine since I found the Subway close to the Wyndam in '05.
And yes, I assure you, there is a Subway rather close to AC. You can just follow me
