Alright, so I'm gonna sound like a bit of a tard here, but this'll be my first time at a convention and thusly doing anything related to badges, so I basically have no idea how to wear them, or even what to attach to them to make them wearable.

How do you guys wear your badges? (Clips, lanyards, etc.etc.) And where do you get the crap to make said wearability possible? Pictures always help.

Thus far all my badges are laminated with hole-punches at the top, if that's applicable.

Thanks in advance!

For me personally, I prefer pin-on badges, but it all depends on what type of badge holder the individual artists stock at their table.

As for how to wear them, just remember that your official badge, the one issued at Registration, must be visible at all times when you are in convention spaces.

This seems an ideal place to mention that this year for the first time the Con Store (conveniently located in Hall C, in Artists Alley) will be selling lanyards for badges at the low price of $2.50 each Smiling We also sell blank badge holders that are (I think) the pin-on type.

Lanyards for me. Clips and Pins can add to the wear and tear of a piece of clothing.

And if you're talking art badges, all the artists I know either include badge holders, usually pin back and many laminate them, with attached clips.

Several people do use Lanyards, which are a good solution, especially when wearing multiple badges. Most people use simple clips, available at your local office supply store, sometimes sold/offered at Registration. http://www.staples.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/StaplesProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10001&productId=92438&prodCatType=0&catalogId=10051 is the standard clip you will see.

Given you have laminated badges with hole punches, you will probably want to make sure the hole is large enough to take a clip, thread the clip through, snap it up.
There are also badge-holders sold with safety-pin fasteners, and some people will use a clip to hold onto a safety pin, as well.

Krazy Glue is not recommended.

As for how to wear them, 'As near to five feet from the floor, without looking dumb' is a good guideline. The closer to eye level they are for others, the better. Clipped to collars or a shirt pocket is best, though to belt or pants pocket is acceptable as well.

Anthrocon will have high-quality badge lanyards (with cute little pawprints on'em) for sale in the Con Store.
