Discussion Content
This board is for general discussion related to Anthrocon and related convention matters. There are plenty of good places foir general fur discussions to be held out there. So please keep your questions and conversations topical. Thanks!
Not yet. It's a complaint that I've seen elsewhere about Drupal as well, so I can only assume that the core team is working on it...

Can you bring energy drinks or any food containing large amounts of caffiene, to keep me awake throught the entire con? Fnord
Yes, but after 36+ hours without sleep you may begin to hallucinate. (and being a furry con, you won't even know whether it was a hallucination.)
I'm guessing you don't know me that well, I shall say this, after 36 hours w/o sleep,I do obscenely stupid things, like painting my whole body with the insides of a glowstick and then go to the dance.
I AM THE LORD OF FNORD! FEAR MY DANCE!!!
That is why after a good few housr of NON Sleep we dont need any Drugs or Booze..
And it helps free the Furry Spirit of the Furry Dance..
And why we have the DEAD Dog Party..
*Free The Mind and Feed the Spirit of FUR*
36+ hours without sleep you may begin to hallucinate
Yeah, and scientific studies show after 21 hours w/o sleep, you are at the mental equivalent of a drunk. Just to brighten the mood

So, now that we're all nude in this public facility, what comes next?
-BRING BACK BLOODY ROAR!
I am a merchant, but I was wondering if my merchandise was appropiate? www.BeckalynsMasquerade.com
I am new to this type of venue as I do ren faires.
Your merchandise indeed would be quite acceptable for sale at Anthrocon, and quite on-theme. Please note that that merchandise would require you to be a dealer to sell at Anthrocon; http://www.anthrocon.org/dealer provides more information.

As far as I know there is not 'rule' that you have to have a handler, but it is a good Idea.
Now this may seem rude but,
Get better friends,
I know that if one of my friends would get a fursuit(Now that would be weird because I have few friends that are furries, but), I would love to be there handler, even if I would not be too good at it. Maybe you should talk to furries from were you live, and see if you cant become friends with any, and if you do then they may want to be your handler.
your not beeing rude....your right it just that i dont know any furries were i live and that makes it hard but thank you...i think i have some one in mind
At the risk of sounding like Giza
http://en.wikifur.com/wiki/Category:California?
What the what, is? now you lost me

Yes, I see, That is a link to WikiFur, wikifur is like Wikipedia but for furries, there is a lot of good information on that website. Now that link itself, takes you to wikifur, under the category California, now under that category you will see both people and groups/cons that take place somewhere in California, now the only reason that I gave you that link is to help you find people from California, hopefully near you. Also the "at the risk of sounding like Giza" was because I do believe he is more then found of WikiFur, a good many of his comments are links to wikifur.
For full disclosure, I'm fond of WikiFur because I'm one of the administrators there.
Is there anywhere you are not one of the administrators
Hahah.
But he's awesome! ^_^
That he is
I think you may want to look at past posts, or start a new thread, also have you seen the registration link on your left and the FAQ on the top, I am not sure if you read them or not, but they are as good as any place to start.
Pretty much the membership/sponser fee is just you buying your ticket to access the convention events. The only difference between member, sponsor and super sponsor (other than the price) is you get extra benefits with sponsor and super sponsor.
As mentioned by others, all membership levels will get you into the convention for its full Thursday-Sunday duration. Attending is the 'basic level', and Sponsor and Supersponsor levels give extra benefits. You can Pre-register online (or by mail), which is highly recommended; it not only costs less but means shorter, quicker-moving lines to receive your badge (And conbook and other goodies.)
Currently membership costs $40 for Attending, $90 for Sponsor and $190 for Supersponsor. On February 16th the prices will increase to $45, $95, and $195 respectively. On-site registration will be $50, $100, and $200.

another question from me
would it be possible to get a 18 and up to get the room and be a under age roomate????
(srry if this sounds wieard) but plz under stand
If you're under 18 I'm pretty sure that you need a parent to sign a form that gives you permission to come to the con. Beyond that, I think you need someone over 22 (or 23) to reserve the room.
Sorry if I'm not answering your question.
i gess you did but you didnt at the same time
thats ok
in other words if i got the permission and go by my self would i be able to get a room while paying half and haveing i firend with me.....?
that should be much clarer
as long as that person is of legal age to rent a hotel room, yeah.
Let me Quote the FAQ, for people under 18,
"Can I get a hotel room on my own?
No. You must be 18 to get a hotel room. If you will be staying overnight, we strongly recommend against making rooming arrangements with anyone that you do not know personally (and by that we mean face-to-face, not someone you met over the internet); better still, it should be someone that your parents have met and whose company they approve. Anthrocon prides itself on providing a safe environment for its attendees, but we are nonetheless a large gathering of people from all parts of the world, and one should be appropriately cautious."
Now if you have someone over the age of 18 who gets the room in there name, then there should be no reason you could not share a room with them, but I must point out the fact it should be someone you parents know and would not mind you being with.
oh ya and how longe is the con and is it all ways on the same date and plase
it's going to stay where it is for the forseeable future, the date changes yearly.
Someone correct me if I am wrong, but This year anthrocon will run from June 24-27, and as far as I know they have the convention center booked until 2014. Now the times of each event are hard to say, until it gets closer to the date of anthrocon, but here is the schedule from last year, if you want to look at it to get an Idea of times, also I heard something about a dead dog part.
The date changes just a little each year. This is due to venue availability.
See http://www.anthrocon.org/faq/date for future dates.
just to let you guys know i wont be going to this years but i will next years
just for info resons
witch is way i am planning and asking alot of question
We do have a FAQ available at http://www.anthrocon.org/faq ; I'd recommend you look and throughly read through the questions there. Most tof the questions you're asking have been asked before quite a few times, and most of the questions you're going to ask, too. You can probably find most answers there or elsewhere on our website.
Please do read through the information we already have for you. If then, you have more questions... ask away!

I have a Forum question.
Is there a way to mark "ALL READ"?
