Hey fluffs

I've been into airsoft for years now, about four of them and occasionally I'll run into the odd fur who's into it, even if it's just an outside interest towards it 'cause the guns are so freaking 1337 etc. but most of what I've found are just furs who want to get into it but never persue it past the point of oggling the guns and all the mods online.

So I was wondering, are there any furs here that actively play the game? I find interest is slowly drifting away from furry and thought maybe I'd see if I could quell the furry burnout by looking for other interests within the fandom just to lessen my own stagnating interest Smiling

I've always been curious about playing in fursuit, but preferably in fall/winter time 'cause well... heh running around in the woods in synth-a-pelt for hours in 75+ degree weather would be as bad enough as what it sounds like it would be ;D

I have a few guns, but I've never actually played. There's really nobody around to play with and it's illegal to play where I live Sad . I was actually thinking about what it'd be like to play in a fursuit, it'd be funny, but I'd be worried about messing it up. You can see my airsoft (well, 2 of the three) here, along with my other... That barrel on your AR is definitely not free-floated (you can't free-float with the basic handguards), the sights look like standard A2 peep sights, and the trigger looks stock; you might have had a trigger job done to it, but for shooting match/bullseye you're better off with like an RRA two-stage trigger.

You could build the same gun (20" 1/9 twist barrel, A2 flashhider, rifle-length gas system, A2 handguards, A2 grip, A2 stock, A2 upper receiver and sights, standard lower) for 600 bucks or so (75 dollar Essential Arms lower receiver, 25 dollar transfer fee at your local FFL, 460 bucks for Del-Ton rifle kit). A good railed freefloat handguard would be another 200-500 bucks, 200 bucks for an RRA two-stage or Timney single-stage. A2 sights are just fine, but you could drop another grand on the rifle and get an ACOG or like a Leopold CQ/T 1-3x.

And, well, if we're bringing real guns into this, here's my rifle. Upper receiver is a LWRC M6A1 (Special Operations Carbine) upper with 16 inch barrel, A4 flattop, ARM-R freefloat RAS, A2 front sight, LWRC short stroke gas piston system, and a DPMS A2 rear sight. Magpul grip panels on the RAS. Lower receiver is a custom engraved DPMS lower receiver with a standard lower parts kit and a Magpul MIAD grip, buttstock is a CAA CBS buttstock, though I'll likely replace it after AnthroCon with either a Magpul Compact/Type-Restricted or Utility/Battle Rifle stock. Sling is, uh, a sling I made out of some duct tape, 1.5 inch nylon webbing, and Paracord. For 10 bucks, it works well enough.

Dooood no way! I love airsoft! I actually play a lot and have been for a while. And not just crappy backyard airsoft, I play with my freinds and we buy stuff like paintball bunkers and play in large spaces. We have a team too with a crappy website (www.rapidfireairsoft.com).

Airsoft would be so cool in fursuits, and pretty sexy too, especially with a tight vest on Smiling
Sadly, i found out that chicks and airsoft actually dont mix too well together, but a guy can dream.

Forget love, I'd rather fall into chocolate!

I wouldn't call that a crappy website, just really well organized and straight to the point. What gun(s) do you have?

I had this one but had to sell it:

I would have to say the CA G36C was the best gun I've ever owned. It's pretty solid, has some pretty realistic weight to it and was always reliable, not to mention the battery life lasted for like.... ever. Smiling

Finally...

People have always seen me as weird wearing a tail and ears to the walkons here. Nothing like watching the guys face when he realised who sniped him out. Or when someone crawls upon my hiding spot and i "growl" at them, they see the ears and back out slowly...worked once

I mostly play paintball, but I do get my fair share of airsoft in. Mostly during the winter, and when I do not feel like dealing with the hassle of paintball.

My airsoft stuff:
((I will post a pic in a little while, I do not have a good one on this computer))
My most often used paintball gun:

I have two of the 1911 pistols and mostly just use them when I play. I hold one in each hand. They are only single shoot spring driven, but I have it down to were I can aim and fire the first gun while I cock the other one handed.

Paintball's my thing, but I do have a single shot Glock as my sidearm XD

Now that I think about it, that things saved my butt a few times...

Though, I wish I had a better gun...I shoot a piece of crap Brass Eagle >_> Though, I usually end up borrowing a friend's spare gun, a Tippman Pro Carbine.

the X7 has much promise, having the internals and cyclone feed of the a5, but much more upgraded and customized, also, offering a factory gas thru is a definite plus

That is true. I've been watching the X7 for a while now...I guess really, its up to the user's preference and cost.

to be honest playing in a fursuit is no hotter than playing in a heavy ghillia suit, which is pretty hot. prepare to sweat and use a camelbak

Yeah but you know what the best part about playing airsoft in fursuit is? It's when you put a thread out about furry airsoft and it gets hijacked with talk about paintball Sticking out tongue

darn those paintballers

that's just because everything is more fun if it's messy! and some paint even smells bad, and you know how much canines love rolling in smelly stuff!!

I play Airsoft every so often down at the Paintball field I ref at (Cardiff Delta Force if interested) And I'm quite a menace. I always laugh my tail off when I see people kitting up with some killer looking AEG's and sidearms and all sorts of accessories...then I pull out my Tokyo Murai USP pistol, throw my Paintball goggles on, and start tearing up the field with my single-shot awesomeness.

As far as Paintball goes, I play once a week, usually ripping holes into peoples arms with my Angel IR3 on the speedball fields, or silently eliminating people with my uber-quiet Tippmann (Freak Kit's are awesome for reducing a Tippmann's trademark BANG! down to a quiet Fft! Fft!)

I wonder if its too late to organize some sort of Airsoft and/or Paintball game for Furries at AC? EDIT: if it did happen, I seriously doubt I could get my gear through customs, so would have to use field rentals for myself *Cry*

Fluffy! YAY!

Ah, this would kind of run afoul of our weapons policy if we did it *AT* Anthrocon. And paintball.....I really don't think the custodians at the Westin would be happy with us!

Hum, what about at the Omni then? (Just Kidding)

I got some good intel on fields nearby, both Airsoft and Paintball. Next year sounds better. *Nod Nod* I wouldn't dream of bringing any sort of weapon into Anthrocon itself. I've seen first hand the kind of damage they can do to unprotected eyes, Not something want to see again!

Small problem might be that from my experience, fields are usually only open to public on weekends, which is when Anthrocon seems to be on, so it would have to be weekend after. Would be sweet to go Furry Airsofting though! Poor locals wouldn't know what hit 'em! Furry Paintballing might be a bit harsh on the fursuits, what with the 300FPS paintballs lovely ability to poke holes in some clothing.

Probably a bit late in the day to arrange anything. Maybe something to think about for next year.

Yeah like very far away from the con so as to keep the "Me smart like dumptruck!" side of the equation from getting too close to the red zone Smiling
