I will make the suggestion here that this is NOT a good idea! This person cut out all the pieces and now people who have never seen it will be sewing them together. What if something has been miscut or you sew it together wrong? You will not have any extra material to fix the problem. It will also be a panic situation, and we all know what happens then, something is done wrong, a quick fix is tried and the problem just got even worse.
Now... has the person actually shipped the material yet? I can tell you that plain old straight stitch sewing machines in Goodwill and other such places can be had for very little money, $20 or less in some cases. She could run out and find one quickly and use that, fur sewing rarely requires other than a straight stitch, unless it is stretch fur. And if that is the case, I DEFINATELY don't recommend sewing it at AC! So see if she is responsive to going out and getting a cheap used machine, offer to reimburse her for it if needed, but do reconsider trying to do it at the last second!

Wait, so this person that you've commissioned for your suit is expecting you to do the last bit of work on it yourself cause their equipment broke? I hope this is a person friend of yours who doesn't charge you labor, cause other wise you're getting ripped off.
You are not responsible for completing your suit if their equipment broke, they are. If they re expecting you to complete the work, then you deserve some of a refund (I'm not saying the entire amount) some percentage based on the amount of work still left to be done.
If you had an agreement with them to have the suit done (aka. fully sewn and constructed) by AC then it's their responsibility to complete their end of the bargain (assuming that you've payed your money to them).
