I'm just curious as to what the climate inside the convention center is like (temperature wise)? I'm asking this because I'm going to have a partial suit (Head, arms/paws, tail, legs/feet) and I was curious as to if it'll be like when I shot at the national championships in Ohio a few years back. One day the temperature reached 110 degrees and I had to wear a sweater, 1cm thick canvas/leather jacket, leather glove, jeans (those fire ants were a bitch if you wore shorts), and boots from 8am until 4pm every day. I understand I'll be hot, but I am just wondering what I should be expecting. |

Face it, you're going to be hot.
That being said, the AC at the DLCC was very effective last year, down right chilly at times.

I remember it getting pretty stuffy and uncomfortable too... There was a time (most of Saturday) if I recall correctly where the air became uncomfortably muggy and decidedly recycled. I'm more than sure it was responsible for the amount of allergy attacks people had. Not to mention the proliferation of airborne con crud.

I was wearing a shirt and tie last year and did not have any problems with the climate inside the DLCC.
Also, the fursuiter lounge there (just off of the Spirit of Pittsburgh Ballroom) was quite chilly. Basically the HVAC guys jammed open the air conditioning vents into that room, so there was 40 degree air blowing into it. I think that room was about 60 degrees for most of the con.

permalinkI remember watching the fursuit games, and thinking to myself I wish I had brought a sweater. Most of the hotel, and convention center was standard room temp., but places where the fursuits were gathering for evens were down right cold. This year I am comming prepared with skin tight thermal leggins. Yay for Underarmor!

if your head has an open mouth to it grab one of the bottled waters the hotel offers and put a large pixy stick tube in the cap, the tube makes for a great straw and the bottles seem like it was made for it. if possible try to avoid paying for one, just find someone who is done with there's, they can be expensive, or i think they do give you a free one with your room.

BE CAREFUL!!!
That "Free" water bottle in your room is nothing of the sort, and if it is gone, they will replace it the next time a maid goes through, and charge you way more then a bottle of water should cost. Get a pack at Quik-E-Mart or somehing instead =P
