There are a couple of ways in which you can create a new thread:
- Click on "create content" on the left menu, then click on "forum topic".
- When viewing the forum, there is a link at the top of the page that says "Post new forum topic".
I apologize for the confusion. I'll eventually have a "forums" link in the menu on the left, but anything I add is viewable by everyone, not just beta testers, so I won't be adding the link until I'm sure the forums are working out. Lovely catch-22, isn't it.

permalinkI like the format of the site, but it seems like the flow of it all is still a little awkward.
I don't know, maybe it's just me.

Can you be more specific as to what you find "awkward"? There are some things that I can change. (and other things I can hack the code of, heh)
If you want, try poking around http://www.drupal.org/, which is run under the same software, and see if there's anything done differently there that you think would be better to have here.

permalinkWell, maybe I'm just being ignorant here.
It seems like I can't post any new threads to this forum, at least not in the beta tester section. Is that just because that this is indeed beta testing, or am I missing something completely?
Also, I was thinking that the navigation bar on the left hand side seems a little cluttered. Is it possible to break that into sub-menus or some such, or would that be asking to be kicked in the teeth?
Also, I'll be sure to check drupal out, and see if I can come up with any other suggestions. :3

Ah, here's where it gets a little funky. The Beta Testers area isn't a "forum" but a "group". If you look on the left under "My groups" and click on "Beta testers", you will get a new menu underneath that with a link that says "create group post". Give that a try and let me know what you think.
I'll see if I can do something about the menus. There are certainly other ways that I can organize them and I might be able to move more items into sub-menus.

Okay, I just did some work on the menu system and trimmed it down a little. Let me know what you think!
I'll eventually be creating a "Forums" link and have "My Subscriptions" be under it, along with a "Recent Posts" and "Make Post" link.

I think the layout on the sidebar seems more intuitive now.
