Hey, I notice from past years that some artwork in the art show is chosen by the staff etc. for con awards? I'm interested to know who was nominated this year if this still happens. When do we usually get to hear about these or have they not been tallied yet? Just wondered as I have a few friends who sent work in and I'm always interested to see what work artists did.

That information will be forthcoming soon, I'm sure. PeterCat mention in another thread that he has a full week of work ahead of him, so don't look for anything immediately. Give us some time to recover! Eye-wink

Exactly -- the votes are tallied, and normally I prepare the ribbons Sunday morning, but the bigger priority was getting the credit card machine working (which I normally do earlier, but something else needed doing first, etc. etc. -- the whole week went that way, trying to stay one step ahead of the next crisis). I can dig out my notes and post the names of the winners shortly, but at the moment they're not handy.

No problem! I just wondered when as I'm not familiar with the usual timing of these things. It's great though, because you can sometimes use the info to search the net for those pictures, for people like me who couldn't go. Ok, I will look out for those and I'm sorry for jumping in there. I can imagine all the crazy paperwork! Smiling

Dark Natasha's "Greed" was voted fan favorite (I forgot to vote but agree with the selection Smiling) It went for $1000 at the auction; does not appear to be on-line Sad

I was reminded of this by PeterCat's separate post of the awards, but since I can't reply to that...
Found it:

from http://dark-natasha.livejournal.com/6890.html#cutid1; still not on her gallery
