A new system to help with fursuit cooling

Baker Bunny's picture

hi hi all
When I got home from anthrocon I found a small flyer that my sister got at her industrial safty conferance. As I was reading this I thought it was advertising a great device to help with fursuit cooling.

It's a cooling system designed for construction workers hardhats. If you want more info here is the website.

Wish my fursuit head had room for a fan

it is a really good idea, but the head would have to be a bit bulky to accomadate the head gear. tho if it could be made slimmer, of customed to fit a fursuit head then that would be awsome!

true
but it looks like the ACAIR2000 system could be modified for a suiter. I'd say wearing this unit on the back of the neck with the intake down the back.

sorry to post again but I found a site that sells the unit

at 64 bucks it's more pricy then the home made units but it should be a sturdy rig for anyone interested

I use bump hats for my liners and you can trim them easy with heavy scissors, they are lighter than hardhats, and you can just attach 1 or 2 hard drive fans pretty easy. My 2 fans blow out at the ear holes on top, and one blows in at the mouth. The battery packs (Jameco.com) have switches already on them (!!!), and are just velcro'ed to the hat.
You can get bump hats online cheap. Just don't put the fans near YOUR ears or you can't hear anything!

Here is the link to the battery packs I use:

i might go a little overboard with my next cooling system hehe. have it microprocessor controlled and checks the temp inside the suit at different spots switching certain fans on and off when needed in order to save battery life etc.
just one of my wierd ideas i get while i plan my next suit LOL
