2008 Registration Question

No time like the present. Of course, Anthrocon graciously offers pre-reg for 2008 at the 2007 convention itself. Sometimes a patron of AC is unable to register for 2008 at the 2007 convention. So it begs me to ask, when will online (or via mail) pre-registration for 2008 be available? Being as... worrisome as I, I of course feel the need to take care of things well in advance (I'm already looking into my rooming options and flight times, if that should give you any idea). I don't need an exact date, as a general educated guess will do me well. (We don't know yet is another good answer). |

permalinkYou can reg at the con for next year's con? If that's true, I'll have to do that next year.
I hear that that badge numbers 1-150 are reserved for staff and guests of honor, so the first general attendance badge number is 151. I'm going to get that badge some year.

The Attendees below 150 are mere Numeros! 150 and above are the elite Espada! ;D

This is correct, that numbers 150 and below are reserved for Directors, other Staff and Guests. (I was #99) That's been enough room of late (I remember when it was 100.)
And yes, Sunday we take registrations for the next year, typically, at a special price. ($35 this year).

permalinkI'm assuming that's at the "front door" registration area? And what about pre-regging as a supersponsor there? Any special rates?

Should we continue things in the same pattern next year as last year (For a number of reasons, I'm being very careful with disclaimers about Registration), then:
#1: Indeed, it will be at Main Registration, which is where all registration is condensed by that point of the convention. (In 2006 and 2007, registration condensed early Friday afternoon into one area.)
#2: Sponsor and SuperSponsor receive no discount from pre-registration, but it ensures them all the perks. this year, only pre-registered SuperSponsors got to go to the luncheon, and that is very likely the same for next year.

I missed the luncheon. Would you know of anyone who makes a RELIABLE pocket watch?

I use a Colibri (of London) which has been quite reliable in my experience. They are easily found at Hutchinson Jewelers, who also have quite the selection if you wish to browse about.

permalinkI missed the luncheon too. In my defense, I was getting ready for it in my room when my roommate came in and was like, "Hey, how would you like to borrow one of my fursuits, run around a bit in it, then do the parade?"
Um...YES!!
One of those last-minute things I could not have possibly predicted. My apologies for not showing up when I sent the RSVP thing but I only had about 20 minutes notice before the luncheon, I'm sure my meal had already been cooked anyhow.

If you're on LiveJournal, you can watch http://community.livejournal.com/anthrocon for announcements. Also, http://syndicated.livejournal.com/anthroconfeed displays the news posts that appear on the front page within an hour or so of an update.
If you have some other RSS aggregrator, there's a link to the RSS feed in the lower left hand corner of every page on Anthrocon.org.

Preregister? *Bounces, tries to find a date for next con so he can get a plane ticket booked, bounces more, looks for a place to sign up, bouncebouncebounce, and forces the Good Folks of Anthrocon to summon their bouncer.*

Pre-registration for next year is always at the Anthrocon registration desk on Sunday.
We don't know when we'll re-open registration. Since we're making modifications to the online system, it might take us a few weeks to test things out and make sure it is ready to go.
Also, as Giza said, we're totally beat! Give us a bit of time to recover first.

permalinkThat's pretty much the way it is for all the cons. I for some reason forgot to do that at AC, because I do know I want to come back next year, but I did do that for FWA.

Calm down, it's not like every hour that passes is one hour less to next year's con... oh wait...
I dunno if anyone's actually said this to you before, but nice job this year with the scheduel K.P. Thanks.

Yes, a big thanks to K.P for the schedule. ^^ First timer at AC, and I actually knew where I was going.
Anywho, I am a bit curious (*sees a bunch of fursuiters growling at him* Heheh, relax, I'm not asking much. xD) myself as to when reservations will be made ready for the Westin, as not only I, but 2 others will be joining me as well next year. I aim to get all of us SuperSponserships as well.
And hopefully next year, I'll be able to have my pic taken with Red XIII. My camera's batteries went poof on me. ;_;
All in all, I look forward to seeing everyone there again next year. ^^

Pssh, I have you beat. 332 days til' AC. That's approximately 7949 hours, 24 minutes, and 30 seconds.
I was a first-timer too, and like you, I found my way around easily.
As for '08... can't wait for it. I'm not waiting til' the last day before pre-reg closes to get all my stuff together.

Should we add a secondary email address, in case the email address doesn't work? I know my handwriting caused AC to send my confirmation to the wrong address.
