I got a dollar at Anthrocon. Dollar was one of those tracking dollars you can track online. I put in my information and submitted it. Before me another fur registered it at Anthrocon. So now I'm making it the offical traveling furry dollar. I'm gonna put a big pawprint on it and give George washington some cat ears then I'm gonna pass it off to another furry who will pass it to another fur and so on. Sound like a fun game? *will post picture tomorrow* |

Yes Wheresgeorge and I gave it a little more thought as I tried to sleep last night after a big gulp of mountain dew. I think what I'm gonna do is put a note on it saying somethign to teh effect of "this "furry" dollar is to be passed off to either Giza or Kage at Anthrocon 2008. it is your, and every other fur's, mission to see that this happens."
Basically I'll sign it, pass it on with instructions which wouldprobably be:
1. sign it
2. pass it on to a fur who wants to attend anthrocon 2008
3. do not use this dollar to purchase anthing from a non fur
4. before you pass it on you must track it on wheresgeorge.com
I'm working out the details, well.. shortenign them really. how much can you really write on the american greenback? I am very curious to see how many hands, erm... paws this one dollar can pass through in less than a year

You mean like a version of The Small World Experiment?
I suspect that it is way less than 6 degrees of separation in Furry Fandom. Probably more like 2 or 3 degrees. (An interesting way to chart this would be to look at LJ friends lists, taken slightly with a grain of salt)
I don't know if it's legal to write on dollar bills. You might want to check around on the Where's George website, or maybe visit the website for the United States Mint.

legal? oh pffft >XH:)p what they don't know won't get me in trouble. Though the reason I say don't give to anyone but another fur is becasue it will no longer be "valid" US currency and if it reenters circulaion in it's new condition it will automatially be destroyed via a big shredder. Though on the flipside it may last longer if those latenight dream of anti-furry government activities are true then the FBI "furry beauru of investgation" might put in their filing cabinate next to "missing"/confiscated AC conbadges.
Now these derees of separation interest me, if you think about it 3 or 4 is probably right. just at AC this year I met gideon, ferris, cougr, arubin, larathan, black max rabbit, and Kage in the elevator; now just think how many people met those same artists? Heck ya know what? in the furry fandom there is only ONE degree of separation from ANYONE!
