As I say in my panels on suit construction, building a suit is like painting a picture. All suits and styles are very personal to the builder. If you look at different suits (made by the same maker) you can see a very distinct style that all the suits share. You can use ideas from others, but in the end it will all boil down to your own personal style.
For frame construction, some use plastic Mesh, some use soft foam (carved) and some (like sharky and speedy) have a more rigid frame. What ever the material might be, it should be light and strong, and walking in a heavy suit is very hard. (and as gross as it sounds sweat adds weight)
If you have no sewing stills you may hire out a seamstress to assist you. To keep the costs down, buy the fabric your self and cut your own patterns. I used a store bought pattern for speedy, of men’s long underwear.
When designing a suit take into account of airflow. This is VERY important in a suit. You want a way to bring cool outside air in, and exhaust hot air out. The best way to do this is have an air intake in the mask (speedy’s nose has a fan behind it to draw air in) and exhaust hot air thru the ears. (Called chimney ears) Speedy’s mask has one fan at the base of each ear that allows the hot air to be vented out. Of course all the fans and batteries to run them add weight, but in the end having a cool fan blow on your face really helps.
*The key is to VENT the hot air out other wise you are blowing more hot air into your face*
Take a look at sharkys web site, there are detailed pictures posted of my suits. All this is public material and I encourage you to use any of my techniques that I have learned over the 7 years of suiting experience
Feel free to contact me, if you have any questions
One more thing, if you are successful in getting a suit done before AC 08 be sure to find me at the con. I always love to sit and talk about different types of construction techniques, with other furs.

You should worry about the whole world giggling at you for being a christian furry.

That's mean, ollj, and quite uncool. I'll leave the posting up because the links are educational, but please, certain opinions are more polite to keep to oneself.

Just like to add that a large portion of the furry fandom are in actuality Christian. Like myself.
The best part of the furry fandom is that we can accept the wide variety of religions shown in many individuals without mockery or contempt.
