Before i say anything, let me say I know what I want, but I want others opinions to help me understand why people choose what they choose. Redundancy! So,fursuiters and non, what would you rather go with, a loose fitting suit or a tight, body formed/ing suit? I personally am going with the tight fit because of how it gives a much more realistic and sexy shape. Being saggy isn't my thing. |

It depends on what you want for the character. You could try spandex. However, a looser fitting suit is easier to build, (less anatomy to compromise), and probably more approachable to children.

A freind of mine are talking about this right now I want to go to a special effects school when I get out of the army but we're trying to make the most realistic fursuit ever including animatronics for the face. if you know where we can get furry spandex let me know please.

permalinkWell without trying to sound egotistical here, I have a pretty nice body and I want to use it to add to the suit, so I'm hoping some day of making something that's form fitting

Just try and do the fur suit games in a tight fitting suit and see what happens to your seems. *RIPPPPPPPPPP*
If you make your own suits (like lots of us do) a ripped seem can be weeks worth of work down the tube. It is for this soul reason that I cut all my suits big, no one wants to have stop suiting to make emergency repairs.

I don't have the ability to make my own suit.
But I don't fear rips caused by something like that. If done correctly, you can still move and bend quite easily.

permalinkthing is this it is not the spandex that would be the problem. I dont' know of any Fur that is stretchy and allow for full unrestricted movement.
standing, sitting, bending over, all put different pulls on the suit. those need to be compensated for and since fur doesn't stretch like spandex well you need to add more in those areas (ie the crotch). that loses the full form fitting effect. another spot would be the arms. hold your arms out infront of you with a long sleeve shirt on and you will see the sleeves fall back on your arms some. that is antoher spot.
i mean it can probably be done but not with conventional fur and not without costing lots of money. closest i can think of to slightly stretchable fur is rubber backed fur but ouch think of that pullign on you

permalinkPerhaps some concrete examples would be helpful here?
There's one suit that comes to my mind as far as "tight" ones go: this luv'ly vixen. Not leotard-tight, or stretchy for that matter, but pretty form-fitting. Great if you're a woman (inside and out), and you want to put the hips and thighs to good use
And similarly, for loose ones, the Timon suit on the right.
(Though Sharky, it was rather news to me that you cut your suits big. From what I saw, yours was the tightest of 'em all
)
Any better/additional examples?

That, or if your a gay guy who happens to actually be skinny. ^_^ And thats what I was thinking of when I was saying tight (the vixen pics). She was what was inspired me to think about getting a 'tight' suit.

I like the idea of a fur I'm wearing to be sexy by smaller middle and thin legs loose but not like uber loose and not uber tight just right to move around in and play in the fur games while maybe break dancing in a few parties^^
