Well first and foremost I would like to introduce myself, My name is Derek and my fursona's name is Koruichi Desoto (White dwarf lop ear bunny). Im wanting to become an avid fursuiter (first thing i have to do is get a suit ^.^) but anyways I know getting a suit is gonna be expensive and lets say I have nooooo sewing talent what so ever but I was wondering, Im kinda nervous, if someone can give me any advice it would come in handy for the 2008 con because Im planning on going with people, but they are also gonna be new to Anthrocon as well. |

I had the same problem when I first wanted to suit. I did a search on amazon and found a really detailed and very illustrated book called making mascots and fabricating fursuits check it out if you want to. Once I get home I plan on working on my first suit.

Would you (or anyone else here) know of a good general forum/list for discussing fursuit design and construction?
I'm aware of the mailing list at fursuit.org, but the membership there is restricted to those who either have a suit or are in the process of obtaining one.

i made my first partial suit for this year. (points at avatar pic) it was fun. i didn't take a normal approach. i kinda looked at many ways other did it and came up with my own hybrid style for the prototype. next year i hope to have had the time to totally redo the suit and further my own design concepts. ^_^
