Question for Westin

Me, and a friend of mine are planning on going to AC. We are both getting the SuperSponser registration (since this year was my first time attending WITH the sponsership. xD). Now I'm a bit curious to know if it would be at all possible to pay for the room in cash? We are both splitting the cost of the room, so I hope it won't be an issue. If not, then I'm sure I'll figure something out. Other than that, I look forward to seeing everyone there next year. ^_^ |

The Hotel requires a credit card to reserve the room, but they don't charge the card until you check-out or fail to show-up. You can pay cash at check out and not charge anything against your card. This is how our group did it this past year (4 of us in one room).
I was even able to put the other guys names on the room when I reserved it so that they could check-in whenever they arrived and get their room key.
WARNING: If you give them a Debit card they will put a "hold" on the total amount of the reserved cost. This means that X number of dollars will be on "hold" in your bank account. So don't use a debit card.

I don't see why not. Though, as another poster already pointed out, you will need a credit card in order to "guarantee" the room.
If you do not have a credit card, you will need to contact the Westin directory and see what alternate arrangements can be made.

The hotel does accept cash but you will be expected to put down a $60 deposit for 'incidentals'. This deposit is refunded at check out, minus whatever you've spent on room service or phone calls, bottles of water, etc. You can put this on a credit card instead of cash, but for reasons mentioned previously, you should not use a debit or check card. Also, when paying cash you pay for your entire stay up front, so make sure that if you're sharing costs with anyone, everyone is prepared to pay their share when you check in.

permalinkThe Westin accepts cash happily. I paid cash for my room when I arrived.
If you pay over the amount the room will cost, you'll probably have to stand in line when leaving to get your cash back. This is usually something to be avoided because the lines can get long. In my case, I just looked up the bill through the TV, saw that I owed them a few bucks, dropped off my keys and went home. They just billed the rest on the card.

Well, I certainly thank you all very much for the help, and advice. Yes, this year I did use a debit card, seeing as how it was all I had. But now that I know and remember the amount due, I don't think there will be any problems with splitting the bill. xD I'll just have to add in the $60, even though I'm going to say no to getting the key to the fridge. And that bottle of water... How long does that sit there? o.o
Anywho, I thank you all for the info. ^^
P.S I wish I had a barbecue chicken pizza from that Pizza N Panini shop. I already miss that. ;_;
