If this is posted somewhere I am sorry for not seeing it. I just wanted to know if I should let the experienced anthrocon attendees get on the first floor. Them or the furs going in full suit. I will only be in a partial suit for I cannot afford a full suit by than. Only asking this for I am a very courteous person. I think of others to often but really just to avoid any conflict. ^.^;; |

I believe the original poster may be speaking in felineese. Fortunately, I am also fluent in that language.
To answer the poster's question, fursuiters normally get priority in the elevator lines. We will also have one or more security personnel working the lobby elevators so as to make sure that fursuiters are brought up to the front of the line.

permalinkThis may require a little translation, both of words and of intent BEHIND the words. I'm an old hand at this, although not an AC official. So, I shall help where I am able.
Here's the unadjusted post.
Here's the part where he/she says they're asking out of politeness.
Here's the parts we're trying to answer.
Here's a slight modification of that:
"I just wanted to know if, when I wait for the elevator in the Westin's lobby, if I should let experienced AnthroCon attendees-or fursuiters- get ahead of he in line for the elevator. I will be in a partial fursuit."
Here's a bit on how that works.
In the Omni hotel (the overflow), there's too few of us to need regulating, so there's no rules. In the Westin, there are Dorsai (Con security) who are handling traffic-flow in the lobby. The congoers line up in the lobby, and the Dorsai direct them to move them as efficiently as possible so we can move to our floors. The Dorsai give priority to the non-convention people, and the Dorsai give priority to the fursuiters.
So, you don't have to worry about that in the lobby.
As to the convention center, there's a walkway leading from the hotel to the convention center and a small elevator leading a little closer to the function areas we use. AC ASKS that fursuiters and their "handlers" be reserved that path, since it's so limited. The rest of us have no difficulty crossing the street and using the external path and escalators. (And I've carried luggage thru that path as well.) However, as of yet, AC has not enforced any rule on this-just asked us all to cooperate.
