Semi parking

I dropped a load near Pittsburgh a few weeks ago. I found that there is no truck stops with parking within 20 miles of the city. Is there something the com can do about parking for us semi driving furs? Like talking to the convention center about us using the loading docks to park are semis. Of coarse I am assuming that the convention center does have a loading dock and there is no one using it during AC. Also Well advance notice will have to be given by us fur truckers to the staff that is taking care of this so they will know who will need semi truck parking. |

OUCH!!! 50 bucks! That's high. Most "pay" truck stops are like $20. I was hopping to stay in a room with a shower and not my truck. But at $50 I will have to stay in my truck. I cant afford to pay that for parking and a shared room. Hopefully I can get someone to let me use a room to store and change into my fursuits and to use the shower.

Man. I'm continually amazed at the broad spectrum of folks in our little fandom. Let all those who hold the wrong impression of us see your fully-loaded 18-wheeler in their rear-view mirror

No one would know I was a furry trucker. The fursuits stay in the bunk. The only thing thats in the cab with me is two donkeys one pluch and a plastic one. The donkey ears only go on after night when no one can see into the cab.
BTW Us truckers are haled up to lot higher standers that four wheelers are. I would like that view of my truck to be a distant one. I hate four wheelers in front of me. They have a dumb idea that I can stop as fast as they can. There are a lot of four wheeler pancakes out there now that know that's not the case. Please don't get in front of trucks or on its right when one is turning. We need all of the space that we can get. Unlike your fellow four wheelers we are concerned about your safety. We can hurt/kill someone very easily and WE KNOW IT. So help us to keep you safe around us.
Sorry about the lecture but you hit a nerve that all truckers have.

permalinkSorry, I was just being figurative. For those who think furries are all of the basement-bound uber-geek crowd, a Freightliner can be quite enlightening ^_^
I have full respect for your commitment to road safety, and am glad to count you as one of us.

I've parked at the spot Kage mechined for the past two years. Rates varies from 20 to 40 a night. First year the attendant made a mistake, caught it after I just payed and he just decided not to changed it. This year it was more, but I don't remember paying more then $40 a night. It is $50 dollars for a full size RV or Truck WITH trailer. Bobtail (class 8 truck with no trailer) is slightly lower.
Kage, would you like for me to come up with dome details about this lot due to my experiences using it and getting to and from it to possibly include on the web site?
