If it's any consolation, your life is just beginning. First tip: if they're that stuck up that they would laugh at you if you told them, then by all means DO NOT tell them. Wait until you've moved out and can support yourself before you tell them anything. Second tip: you're 16? Just two more years and you can go to the con without a consent form. And if you're going to turn 17 before the con, then you'll be 18 before the one after that so you'd only have to wait one more year. Then you can go to all the cons you want.

In the meantime, relax! Enjoy hanging out with your friends, be cool, and chat it up with the other furs you meet online. There's no need to rush anything.

And um...just to be on the safe side here. Something brought up on a recent internet radio show I think I'll mention here. Chat all you want, but do not leave saved emails, chat logs, pictures, text messages, or anything ON your computer or anywhere in your room for your parents to find. In fact, do not save anything. They WILL find it. And that would be most definitely bad if you believe they'd not take well to the "furry" concept.

And if you really can't wait, try looking for local furmeets in your area. Just be careful. In any group of people, it takes all sorts...so try to go with a friend if you can. Don't accept drinks from strangers and all that yatta yatta. Remember you share a common interest but strangers are still strangers.
