hi i am new-ish...

i have been looking at the super sponsorship very closely.

i have a couple of questions to people who have done the super-sponsorship before,
and to whoever is in charge of the convention atendance.

it says a unique gift
what might that be? if its classified till the registration pickup, i understand but at the very least ansewer this. is it cool? i should hope so...

also the super sponsor lounge, i assume its a hospitality suite with snacks, if not what is it?

and i guess my final question is
is it worth it?

i am going to be a sponsor eather way, i have made my mind up on that, i just want to know the COMPLETE details of the thing, before i go and spend my money on somthing...

thanks
blaze

just curious whjat makes it so worth it other than all the accomodations(luncheon and lounge)

and i am still curious about the "unique gift"
what was it, last time you were a super sponser?

The unique gift is usually a print of a piece of artwork done specially for Anthrocon by one (or more) of our guests. We leave it as "unique gift" since we sometimes throw in something extra-special.

The supersponsor lounge is indeed a hospitality suite with snax and things.

Don't forget: if you pre-register as a supersponsor, you get to attend the SUPERSPONSOR LUNCHEON on Saturday. It's all of our supersponsors along with our guests of honor.

This year we're thinking to have it begin at 11:30 to help avoid bumping into the fursuit parade and other Saturday afternoon events.

Like Uncle Kage pointed out, we haven't yet updated the volunteer page. As the webmaster here, I'd like to explain why this is: the convention is a year-round commitment for some of us, and when one year's convention is over, we do not necessarily have all of the info for the following year's convention.

A pertinent example in this case was the hotel situation. After some of the attrition we had right before the 2007 convention, the hotel wanted to discuss it with us before offering rooms for the 2008 convention. This took a few months, so rooms for the 2008 convention did not become available until October of 2007. So, what to do in the meantime? We didn't want to blank the hotel page, in case people wanted to read about the hotels that we would be using for the convention, so we instead left the old one up. This also holds true for the volunteer page, the Guests of Honor page, and many others -- we can't update them for 2008 because we don't have yet the info. And blanking them isn't a solution either.

So, what to do? Well, if you look at the top of the volunteer page, you'll see a small piece of text that reads, "Anthrocon 2007". That is because the page belongs to a category of that name. Other pages on the site say, "Anthrocon 2008" at the top. This helps differentiate between which year a particular page is for.

Is it a perfect solution? Of course not. I'm always keeping an eye out for better ways to organize the data on our site so that folks can find what they need to find, with a minimum of clutter.

I hope that covers the topic at hand. If you have any questions, feel free to let us know!
