I have a question about the fursuit parade. I've seen videos of the 2007 parade on YouTube and say that some people were carrying little radios that played music. Is it possible for people to play their own music in the parade? |

I'd say ask Yappy Fox. But, as so long as it's not too intrusive.
And dance to the music. Don't play music and walk like you've had nothing to do all day.

Yappyfox and I set up an in-house parade transmitter to broadcast a parade-ish song to the whole crowd. The original plan was to have a bunch of fursuiters bring their radios, tune into the "parade", and have it continuously play throughout the event. Well, it turned out to only be me and someone else with radios. So I was the oddball playing some happy-cheery song to everyone!

I think for next year's parade, we need to raid a dollar store the week before the con and grab 50 radios from there.

Let me guess, the song was a simple version of "Baroque Hoedown" by Perrey & Kingsley (you might think of it as the music from the Disney Electrical Parade). And also, weren't you the one whose radio went out in the parade in 2007?

Yes! It was that song, an edited up version. I had my radio, and it worked pretty well during the whole parade. There were some hiccups, like finding out that the Convention center is a pretty good Faraday's Cage for weak signals. Also, my handpaw kept on hitting the power button.

Wouldn't you love to hear the real "Baroque Hoedown" in the fursuit parade this coming year?

If there's a friend of yours in the fursuit parade, maybe you can let him/her borrow your radio? ^^
Or you can let me borrow a radio. I was *lucky* to get into the fursuit parade last year.

What does that have to do with it?

Well here's a related question--I'll put it here...
If you're not gonna be in a fursuit, can you still march in the parade with a radio? I'd be willing to just be a pack mule--I'm good at that kind of thing

Since the title of the event is "Fursuit Parade", the answer would be a big "no".
