Welcome to Anthrocon!
anthropomorphics, which are humanlike animal characters. We are a collection of artists, animators, writers, costumers, puppeteers, and just everyday fans who enjoy cartoon animals and their kin. Membership is open to any and all who like to imagine what it would be like if animals could walk and talk as we do -- and no, you do not have to wear a costume to attend!
As we prepare for Anthrocon 2014, we would like to take a moment to debunk all this talk we hear of "Secret Societies." From the outrageous notion of the German government's Furry Intelligence Agency (FIA) to the mythical FCLR, stories abound of clandestine organizations made up of (and in some cases, to study) these strange "furry" creatures that have been so common of late. Join us, then, during July 3-6, 2014 in Pittsburgh's magnificent David L. Lawrence Convention Center, as we gather to put these outlandish tales to rest. There will be workshops, panel discussions, an art exhibition, the largest dealers' room in the fandom, and a chance to meet our honored guests whose identities will be revealed in this very space in due time. You can also watch the Independence Day fireworks (weather permitting!) as Anthrocon once again turns the whole of downtown Pittsburgh into a furry metropolis - and that's no secret!
