SURVEY: Your Anthrocon 2014 Hotel Reservation Experience
Registration was smooth as silk for me. I even had zero problems with calling up and extending my stay at the Westin from Sunday checkout to Monday. Very impressed!
This will be my first Anthrocon experience, and the hotel reservation process went on without a hitch!
I will be staying at the Westin with several friends this year!
I accidently booked my checkout date wrong. I wanted to check out on the 7th... but some how messed up and got my check out to be the 8th. What is the best way to fix this? Through the 'Reservation changes and cancellations' link, calling, or email?
When I had to extend my reservation, I called them using the number on the reservation email I received. They were very helpful and quick, and within 5 minutes, I received a new email with my amended reservation. Rather than wonder if changing it via the website worked, I recommend giving them a ring.
There should be a link in your confirmation email to make changes to your reservation.
You can always email housing(at)visitpittsburgh.com and inquire.
You will get charged for the first night stay on the reservation, but only pay for the rest at checkout time.
If you can not call the hotel to change the checkout date, you can always tell them at check in when you arrive that you'll be leaving a day early.
For now, you may want to keep that extra day if for some reason you would like to stay for an extra day...just a thought.

I wont be staying an extra day for sure. The con ends on the 6th. I also have someone I need to get to an airport on the other side of the state. I'll give them a ring.
I've said it quite a few times in various places (including the survey), but once again the system worked great. Was super easy booking at the Omni and seriously wish other conventions had a similar system in place for rooms!
OMG just amazing on how easy it went for me and i got to be in the main hotel! It my first con and im just happy with how things are handled. Thank You!!!
First AC. First choice of rooms. In and out in three minutes.
I registered and reserved a room today. It took longer to arrange the air transportation than to do either the registration or the room reservation. An excellent job, folks!
No issues. Everything went smoothly.
It was okay. I had absolutely no problems with reservation at all, which was good. I'm just slightly disappointed about missing out on the Westin. I'll be staying at the Omni this year instead. Can't wait for the con!
Yay for more OmniFurs!
Don't be to disappointed, the Omni is an awesome place to stay. We were there last year and didn't miss the insanity of the Westin at all. Sure, it's a slightly longer walk, but can get breakfast/lunch/dinner on the way to and from!
The reservation process went smoothly and quickly, and I was right in at 11am without more than a 30 second wait, though I kept wondering if my experience was somehow broken because I was unable to book 2 rooms at the same time, leading to my having to go through the process twice to get a second room for friends. Hopefully they don't cancel one of those, thinking it a mistake.
That is a feature, not a bug. Booking one room at a time helps make sure the widest variety of people get their choice of rooms.
Yeah, I just couldn't find it stated anywhere other than in reference to supersponsors only being allowed to book a single room, which left me guessing as to whether that was still the policy starting on February 3rd, or not. It would have been more clear (to me, at least) if the "Event" tab had stated that room reservations must be booked one-at-a-time, given there is a link imediately beneath the "Rooms" dropdown that explains how to do a proper multiple rooms search, and that the tab already has the note about "You can select 5+, but you can't have 5+...". Every once in a while, NoScript tends to do something wonky to a site, leaving me wondering if it was me, or policy.
every thing went ok very pleased
Uhmm - who will be reading any comments left on the survey?
That would be me.
If it's something important (such as referring to a specific error), I forward them onto the appropriate entity.
Well, I'm not sure what to say yet, as I'm getting error messages or it's not allowing me to make a reservation in the mail hotel-The Westin? I've trying clicking on several different links, hoping I'd get a link to make a Westin reservation, but no luck yet. EN
