what if anything really happens monday night? Im curious if any furs stay that extra day to help get over that post con depression. Im thinking of staying that extra day and I didnt want to find out I was the only fur in the whole darn hotel. EDIT: Im not really depressed much with the Post con depression, but I got some roomies that get it REALLY bad. So Im being a good roomie and seeing what can be done about that. Plus, im sure lots of you other folks go through similar issues having to go home after all that fun and live boring lives again. I mean most everything is boring when compared to AC. |

Well, I'd love to stay the extra day. But that's not up to me, that's up to the army. Actually it's up to the army whether or not I go at all. But if I'm there, I'll definitely hang with ya on monday.

I'll actually be there Monday night this year. I'm taking an extra day to visit a wildlife sanctuary to which I was invited.
If any of my United Paws Animation group is still there, I'll likely go over company business and planning with them. :3
That's the plan so far!

If anyone had severe con depression, it was me. Not only did I spent the last day of the convention in the hospital, it happened to be my birthday.
Combat con depression by working hard at your job, saving each penny, and relishing each day that passes as the next Anthrocon draws closer and closer.
Your friends are not far. And Anthrocon will be here for years to come. I hope for eternity.

Let me tell you about post con depression. This year was my first AC, and it was the best time I have ever had. I am not a very social person, mainly because I live not only in Kentucky, but in the Ghetto. There are no furries around here, and my only friends live forever away, so I am always starved for human contact. Because of this, after AC was over and I was driving home, I cried. I actually cried, because I knew I would have to wait another year to be around people I cared about and could relate to.
After that happened, I thought for sure that I was going to stay an extra day, but the more I thought about it, the more I thought it was a bad idea. I figured that if I stayed another day, I will have to sit in my hotel room all alone, with all the memories, and then I would still have the PCD. So, I decided to just do what I did this year and leave on Monday. It will be a lot less painful on my wallet.

I actually had to leave on Sunday morning because both my ride/room master had to, so that didn't help with my PCD. I missed all of Sunday.
This year I plan to leave around Monday after noon. I don't see much happening on Tuesday morning or Monday night.

Mondays, the con is usually pretty empty after check-out time. The Zoo closes at noon, and while there is significant milling about and good-bye-ing, not many folks do stay through Monday evening.. I'd estimate perhaps 10% of the convention remains in Pittsburgh. Now, 5% of the convention will still be 150 people.. so if you have some friends also willing to stay, it might be a good time! I'd seek out local Pittsburgh attractions.. it's a grand city, you ought to be a tourist in it while you're there! Perhaps sporting events, or a movie. But there won't be the milling about of furries shoulder-to-shoulder, no.

OK, what about ideas for a meet after the con. We can call it the PCD meet for Post con depression. We can meet up by the waterside(that area at the end of the walkway below the con center). We can have dinner at the steel city diner if we can manage to fit in there. and then there is a theatre within driving range for watching movies called the squirrel hill theatre. Problem is though that they dont have much in the way of parking available when i was there last. If anyone knows of other things to do, go ahead and post em. I want to occupy myself for the whole day in the presence of lots of furs.
This could end up taking the entire day though, so anyone planning on staying might consider another night at the hotel and leave tuesday morning. Im still milling over that concept myself because I live close enough that I can party for a while, drive 2 hours and get home late night, but still not have to pay for another night.
