As a Monty Python fan who's seen both movies, I say-with confidence-
that Monty Python and the Holy Grail is a FAR better movie than
"Meaning of Life."

How much better?
I bought both on VHS tape.
I bought Holy Grail on DVD sometime later.
I threw out my Meaning of Life tape and never replaced it.

I found Meaning of Life AMUSING, but nowhere near the caliber of
Holy Grail, and I believe in everyone seeing Holy Grail at least
once. Why do you think they made a BROADWAY MUSICAL of Holy Grail
("Spamalot") but there's no such plans for Meaning of Life?

The Quest for the Holy Grail, definetely. I've seen prettymuch all their movies and if you're only gonna buy one, get Holy Grail. I've seen one edition that has "shakesperian" subtitles that are a real hoot.

Thanks, i just bought the holy grail. You're right, it is far better, but which one was made first? We are no longer the knights who say Ni, but the knights who say something i can't type.

Do you want the first shrubbery they got for that or the 2 story one they wanted before the police got them.

But what about that that last part that he whispers. It reminded me of a furby after i poured water on it.

Really you had to google that? Is it a bad thing I knew that from heart?

Strange, I know that line by heart to. One of my favourite lines in The Holy Grail.
Some of my favourite charactors to, the knights who say "Ni!".

No, knowing that from the heart is a gift. 1st to be able to catch that and being able to say it with the knights.

Grail was first, in the early 1970s. At the risk of coming across as an old codger, my friends and I saw it when it first came out, at a drive-in movie. Back then, each parking spot had a speaker box on a post next to it, with a wire long enough so you could take the speaker box off its post and put it inside the car to listen to the movie. Being the tech whiz, I took the cover off the speaker box and hooked it up to a cassette recorder in order to tape the soundtrack. In the weeks that followed we pretty much wore out that tape and memorized the whole movie!

If you have the chance, go see Spamalot, the Broadway musical based on the film. The touring company is working its way around the country if you're not near NYC. Well worth it! (Ironically, Eric Idle is working on adapting the show back into a film!)
