Academic Paper on Furries...?

I'm debating writing an academic paper on the speech community of Furries... Things like word use, solidarity, formality, how we talk to those within the community verses those outside of it. Things that exist in the community that those outside the community tilt their heads and go, "Huh?" at... Anyone think this might be a fun one to do? ....and yes, I know, I'm a geek...but I'm trying to be a productive one... |

Well, you always run into the risk of someone wondering "WTF?" when you present the paper. But, you'll run into that anywhere. It does sound intersting, tho. I wouldn't mind reading it if you made something like that.

Gotta admit it's an intriguing idea.

Salamanca! Nice! That's so nifty!
But yeah...I'm thinking it might be a fun one to do for grad studies, so I'm starting early to research.

Can't... resist... "Duck Soup" pun...
Fredonia, eh?
Is your mayor named Rufus T. Firefly, by any chance? XD
PS: I'm aware of how old thinking of such a pun makes me. :<

I say do it! At the very worst you could get a bad grade.

Interesting. Last year, I had to present a report in class on subculture. All of my friends did anime. But just to go in another direction, I did it on the furry subculture. I got the highest grade in class for "A topic not seen in this school before." Woot! People kept annoying me the rest of the day, bringing up things in the media. *points to CSI: Fur and Loathing" Eventually I got ticked off and punched the kid....enevitably resulting in a week suspension. FURRY POWER!

*chuckles* I think an entire case-study could be based on me alone.
There's the old saying 'they broke the mold when they made you'. In my case, the mold was likely broken beforehand. >;3

Dr. Gerbasi, by the way, has my official endorsement. We have collaborated on a furry study previously.

The desire to dream is primordial. Some evolutionary process has instilled life on this planet with the ability to dream. It is essential to survival. Even dogs dream.
