That's correct. Only 6 more months to go everyone. It's all downhill from here. xD

I doubt it. By then we could just hook up our brains to some uberly powerful computer (something that makes BlueGene/L seem like a pocket watch) and just have a cyber con.

You're off by a month; 6/29 - 11/29 = 7 months (plus the counter says 210 days, not 180...)

rar...

we really closer to 7 but.... man is it getting that close already? Is Uncle Kage having his nightmares yet? It feels not quite like AC07 was that long ago but.... it almost feels like it's closer to AC08 than AC07 by this point for some wierd reason.

Hehe, my apologies for the miscalculation. ^^;
But yes, AC 08 is actually closing in quite rapidly. I'm already having dreams of it myself. xD Though there was this one dream that I was stuck in the elevator at The Westin, and..... never mind, I won't get into THAT dream. xD

On a side note, I'd like to take this time while it is still simmering in my memory, to thank one of the dorsai (I don't know his name x.x) for allowing me to jump onboard the "furryvator" That was the elevator designated for fursuiters only. Well, I had a rather slight problem I needed to tend to right away, but when I got to the elevators, the doors JUST closed. Well, across the hall, that one particular dorsai just said to me "Get in." So I jumped in.... and about 3 seconds later, I was up to my head in furries! xDDD There had to have been 10 suiters stuffed in that thing, plus me, and the dorsai. Yes, it was a bit stuffy, but I would give anything to experience that once more. ^_^

That sounds like just absolute fun. I would give anything to try that. But, I'm to shy. Sad

Now what was I going to say? Oh yes! For some reason I get the feeling that stuffing all the fursuiters into one elevator is a bad idea. Why? Because when but that meany into one elevator, the heat builds up. And Fursuiters are already really hot.

Hmmm, what would probably be better to do is load 3 or 4 fursuiters on each elevator. You would of course give them priority, so that they get on first, but other normal furries (there are no non-furs in the Westin during Anthrocon!) would get on second.

Not a bad idea.

I imagine the reason that the dorsai (and, by extension, AC) do it the current way is that 1 minute, even crammed in closely with other fursuiters into a small elevator (with their spotters along, since fursuiters need their spotters with them) is less heat intensive than 10 or 20 minutes in a less snuggly space waiting while the elevator ferries everyone up or down in small groups. If the dorsai see that they've collected all of the fursuiters currently wanting to use the elevator and herded them in, i'm sure they'd just go ahead and send the elevator up, no matter how empty it is.

Really, i've only even seen things get tight around that elevator right before and after the big fursuit events, like the parade and certain portions of the dance. In those cases, they may also be concerned about the time constraints--the longer it takes to get everyone up to where the parade is, the more likely it is that someone will get overheated and sick before the end of the parade, which can already be pretty grueling.

Of course, all of this is just my guess.

With many gathers, my experience has been that if something seems really simple and logical, chances are no one has ever done it. With AC, my experience is that if something seems really simple and logical, chances are they're either already doing it or there's a simple logical reason why it can't be done. *smiles* Just me.
