I've been trying to plan AC so my friends and I can go because my Mom thinks there will be too many parties at night to her liking. SO I've been calculating the room price with number for room mate slip amounts so I could see how much my friends have to pay.

Totals That I Got:

For staying 6 days:
Total: $768.60
Split with 3 people: $262.20
Split with 4 people: $192.15

If I have the wrong numbers, someone holler and I'll edit it for ya ^_~

So...your mom doesn't want you to go alone because there'll be parties, but it's ok if your friends go with you...?

O.K.

Anyway, it's $115 per night plus 14% state and local taxes, which comes to roughly $131 per night for up to 4 people per room.

She just doesn't like noise and it'll tire her out faster and not want to stay as long.

Before I was just going with her cause she never said I could go with my friends until she thought about the party. She was like, "Why don't you go with their friends? Don't they want to go?" and me on the other side of the phone was like "OMG I can go with my friends??! You never said I could and I didn't ask cause I automatically thought you'd say no."

Aaah so I did calculate the price right.

As you can see once you click though on the Hotel Page, rooms at the Westin are $115 PLUS 14% tax, or $131.10.

Ah, roomies.

First challenge: how many of the people who will "definitely be there" actually will
show up? Often, some of the roomies pull out days or weeks before the con, or just
never show up.

Second challenge: how many of those that show up will actually pay up as soon as they
arrive, and how many will try and convince you they should pay less?

Third challenge: who sleeps where?

Fourth challenge: where does all the stuff go?

Fifth challenge: noise and schedule- what happens when?

Yes, when beginning to room with people at a convention, there's all sorts of
adventures ahead of you. (I usually prefer fewer people, balancing paying more
vs more peace of mind, but you may not have that option.)

Oh, lest we forget, rooming with friends can be an incredible blast.

I should also point out that the person who is reserving the room must be at least 18 years old, have a valid government issue ID, and be physically present at the hotel to check in.

In other words, if you aren't 18, you can't have a parent reserve the room for you and then simply send you along. if they reserve the room for you, they have to show up to check in.
