Taste Testing
|
|
Hi hi all While working on my latest recipe I had an interesting Idea. I'm always coming up with new original recipes and well I can't test them all myself (I'm on a diet after all) So I was thinking in addition to my regular custom of supplying baked goods to friendly congoers. I thought it might be interesting to make up several batches of experimental sweets. I've got no Idea what I might bring for tests but I'll assure everyone it'll be edible and non-leathal (although probably fatting) For sure though I'm hoping to have one or more new flavors of soda fudge as well as possibly home made gummi's and new flavors of cookie and cake. I was thinking of snagging a table in the Zoo every night and setting up a sign (taste testers wanted). Every night I'd bring down one or two of the test batches for feedback. So what do you folks think? would anyone be willing to subject them selves to my bizzare experimentats? Also would there be any problem with me doing this in the Zoo like I stated? Also on that note I was wondering if It might be okay for me to bring a electric tea pot so I might offer tea or hot coco? |

We might be able to get away with giving away cookies for free, but setting up an electric pot for hot drinks would be a definite no-no.

permalinkawwww... so no coco with little bunny marshmallows
I didn't think there would be a problem with me giving them out It's my fourth year doing that, I was just wondering if there might be problems with me putting up a sign.
Oh well
better to know this now.
While I've got your attention sir... Is there anything special I can make for you?
I've got a recipe some where for a margarita angel food cake

Nod* I know where you're coming from. I was considering a pannel with food (and vorish jokes for this last year) but apparently the food union has an cast iron grip on the unhealty foodstuffs us already... dietary challenged furs have during the con. Ah well... but count me in as a cookie guini-dragon. ^.=.^ yay cookies! *nomnomnomnom*

I do think milk/chocolate milk/Ovaltine/etc would be preferable to no drinks at all, though.

and a trip to a nearby supermarket could help with that...
I'll be with some one who has a car this year so that could work.
maybe some homebrew soda would go over well at a taste testing too

rar... *raises paw*
I can help you with that. I'm a homebrewer; I do beer mostly so I should have pretty much all the equipment to do it. Any flavors in particular?
At the moment I'm already planning on bringing brew and handing it out as gifts; that is unless the rules on alcohol have changed since last year.

permalinkOhh I've got all the stuff I need for Homebrew soda
Except individual bottles I was planning on using 2 litter bottles to share
But if you want to make some to bring that will be great too
I figured if I bring some I'll make cola, rootbeer, and maybe cherry
I'll admit the method for making homebrew soda was very similar to that for home brew beer

Since the con is in June, it might be a bit warm outside for cocoa, but I could go for some ice tea.

I grow quite a bit of catnip in my garden...
Mutant NJ catnip, nicely glowing from the Oyster Creek ponds I water it with.
*gives Giza a plate of cookies, which seem to glow greenly*
Try one... >:}

permalinkHey the page and recipe look good.
But i have a small question. The picture on the page is a little provocative. I don't have a problem with that, but in the book do any of the pictures show anymore than that one page?
I ask only because those who are under 18 might be interested in the cookbook as well.

permalinkAhh thats because the artist I commissioned it from uploaded it as a mature piece
the other two where uploaded myself I didn't think they warranted a mature flag. but thats just me.

permalinkJOR5Z - So? No one's forcing you to look. And, you're not speaking out for the rest of us. You're underage anyways so....yeah. That's nothing compared to what's REALLY out there. If you don't like it, don't look at them.
BB - I look forward to your cookbook and your cakes.

permalinkThanks
I am hopping to have cakes for taste testing
I'm thinking Banana and Pear variations on my German apple cake
as well as some new soda fudges
butter beer, cherry cola, and I'm toying with trying a ginger beer fudge... I'm just not sure how that combination will taste but it should be interesting. Chocolate with a bite. (hey if dunkin donuts can do a jalapeño toped donut I figure I can get away with ginger beer fudge)

permalinkSounds tasty. I'll stick to the variations of the apple cake, tho. ^^ The banana one sounds tasty. I'll definitely have to track you down when you roll in.

permalinkOhh the Zoo is easy to find.
It's on the third floor of the Westin, right next to a hallway full of computers, and usualy has the highest concentration of furs outside of the lobby(or dealers room)
Also if you spot me at times other the taste testing time feel free to ask for a cookie
