Art Show space is still available! Artists, please send in a reservation before May 31 if you'd like to participate. You can download the information packet with the display rules and a space reservation form from: Art Show Information/Reservation Packet - ArtShowPacket2014.zip (659 KB)

For a general overview of the Art Show, visit the Art Show page.

Could have gone all day without hearing that. The art show is one of the big draws of AC for me. Bad news to hear that it could be partly empty this year.

...Dont know whether thats good or bad news. I mean...I could have done with a few more quality pieces in the adult section, but aside from that last years 'half full' art show struck me as having enough to keep my attention.

there usually is plenty of art in the show.I always find it a bit puzzling though when  people reserve space then not put stuff  up

The reservation deadline on the Art Show Info PDF file says March 31 - not May 31.  Was the deadline moved later because of the lack of reservations submitted, or was that a typo?

I might be able to submit something if I have the chance!  Eye-wink

The deadline's March 31 for guaranteed space, artists who respond after that are taking a chance that we'll book full. We didn't, so space is still available!

I begin drawing up the assignment chart, mailing the paperwork, making the signs, etc. in early June, so it's cumbersome to add new reservations that late. Still, I won't turn anyone away if there's still unassigned space, at worst the artist would have to pick up their paperwork at the con.

The March 31st date is actually why I didn't try to be in the art show this year, as it was more or less presented as a hard deadline.

This may be something to be clarified in future years. Smiling

I'm almsot positive it's mentioned in the art show information packet that, even if you miss the Mar. 31st deadline (for guaranteed space), to send in your application anyhow, because there's usually extra room and they're then taken on a first-come, first-serve basis.

I totally forgot to send mine in before April and just dropped it in the mail last week.

See I didn't even ask for the packet/try for it given the deadline. xD But you're probably right, it's been a few years since I've been in the art show.

Sorry about the misunderstanding, I hope you'll send in a reservation now! I chose March 31 for the deadline because I need to have a solid figure for how much space will be required in order to have time to update the setup plans, revise the maps, prepare the assembly charts, etc. I'm not going to have extra panel space assembled, or order extra tables, if they're not needed. Because of the way the panels are configured, there's almost always leftover space so I'd like to fill as much of that as as possible.

That DOES sound like something that should be mentioned somewhere
for later AnthroCons.
