WOOHOO,.YES! Bounces, this is great, SOO many voices from my youth..*faints* er.I'm Very excited about this GoH
Words literally can not describe exactly how excited I am for this. Not figuratively, LITERALLY.
I feel the same way, thus why I made dumb words that sound like gobbledy gook..now i have to prepare myself even more for the con
I might've burst into happy excited tears.
Isn't that the case, there are just TOOO many things i loved him in, heck pretty much every animated disney TV show, most Kids Wb, countless animated features... i think i've just went crosseyed... I just can't pick WHICH of many of my fav characters he voiced that are my faves..just to many....
I feel ya there! I'm trying to figure out what I wanna have him sign haha. Probs just gunna buy whatever is on his table lol
Same here, Though just for sentimental reasons I'm going to try to find some older stuff too.. littler parts not everyone remembers, heck, I have fond memories of his Voice as General Parvo of Road rovers. but there is TOO much, have to do lionking, Don Karnage, and Darkwing duck,Steel(balto) too....er..this list is getting long again
And remember he FINISHED "Be prepared" in the lion king when Iron's voice gave out.
Wow, really!? That's cool!
Yeah, not sure exactly where, think it was around the second to last set of verses, "You Won't get a sniff without me" was the last Iron's sung if memory serves..Its a pretty impressive feat that I never noticed it till told..and I had seen the movie ALOT..fav song as well
Oh man, so he sang a good verse or two after "you won't get a sniff without me", IIRC. I absolutely did not notice! I have a friend who's an extremely talented voice actor and can pull off all kinds of voices really well ... like he once did a reading of Van Damme so well, they almost substituted him into the part. So I'm not surprised that stuff like this happens, I'm just super impressed that I didn't ever notice.
Remember that scene where Simba's walking across the log with Timon and Pumba and singing 'hakuna mattata' over and over, tossing his head around? And as he walks across he grows into a young lion, and his mane grows out and stuff? Pretty much every line of the song after that sounded like it was sung by a woman. That always weirded me out. I couldn't figure out if it was intentional, 'cause I dunno, he was a teenager and his voice was changing ... or if they just used a last-minute substitute who just wasn't that good about bridging the gap between young Simba and Matthew Broderick.
I'll admit I've been hugely impressed with voice actors in general, since i have no talent whatsoever I admire their skills greatly. Admitedly getting off on a tangent here, but a big fan of disney musicals and the like, so a question have you ever heard the cut repriese to be prepared? Its a small thing but still an interesting bit that was cut
Not sure about the Log scene, certainly one of those things I noticed, so I had assumed it was intentional, if not..well.. I'm gullible. I generally fall for alot of voice actor replaced voices in TV and movies.. okay, many of those happen to be Jim Cummings, Maurice Lamarche, and a few other extremely talented voice actors.
My god! I don't normally get fanboy-ish, but looking through his IMDB brings me back to so much of my childhood! I never want to be that person in line to say "I love your work and you'll never give a hoot who I am," but I might have to make an exception now.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH! *flails about in happy fangirl flailing*
Now that.... is dang cool.
AWESOME! I was begining to wonder why there was only one guest of honor .
also just to add a few more names hes done ..Dr.Robotnik , and Bonkers !
*Swims in circles all happy* Cant wait to meet him
OMG he is such a high profile voice actor! Very very excited for this announcement.
This is quite possibly going to be the best Anthrocon ever. I hope to get a chance to meet him, even if It's just for a second. I only wish I had the money to upgrade to super sponsor to attend the luncheon.
Wow, Uncle Kage really knows how to pick 'em. =3 Definitely can't wait to meet Mr. Cummings. Be kinda funny when he gets up on stage during opening ceremonies, and in the voice of Dr. Robotnik, says "Ladies and gentlemen of the convention, welcome to Anthro-tropolis."
You know, I thought it would be something Baised on the Secret Spy Organization S H U S H..from *redacted* duck.. first connection to the theme this year that came to mind
...CRAP. Now I have to revise my entire "Secret Society" badge ideas!!! D:
One of my biggest Anthrocon regrets is that I started attending in 2008, and therefor missed GOH Rob Paulsen in 2007.
Of course, as a greymuzzle, I am much more familiar with Jim Cummings' work than that of Lee Tocar's. But I hope that the people working on this year's schedule are trying to keep all of their panels and presentations at different times, so I can attend them all.
As a novice puppeteer, I am eager to learn whatever I can about voice-acting from both of our GOHs!
..if thats the logic of being called a greymuzzle..... oh dear..... i knew i was getting older when all these kids were on my lawn..now i know the truth...those who grew up with Jim Cummings voice mean your a greymuzzle... oh well... let me get my cane.
I am just utterly floored whenever i see the list of voices Cummings as done, its just.. beyond belief.. and comprehension. Would calling him a modern day Mel Blanc be to extreme?
Aslo hope that there isn't much conflict in the schedual between both GoH...(And my own panel as well truth be told)
Heck yeah!!! He will definitely drag me away from my dealer table!
Holy crap. How'd we manage Jim Cummings? Excellent.
Super excited to hear Jim Cummings will be joining us in July!
It certainly is a pleasure and an honour to have an esteemed actor join us.
HOLY ****! HOLY ****! HOLY ****! HOLY ****! HOLY ****!
*clears his throat*
I rereg. again just from this news I was like I need to at least get a chance to see this guy in person he did alot of my childhood favorites. Can't wait only 38 more days.
This man is the voice of my childhood!
Please tell me that there's going to be signings... Please oh please!!!
I would be shocked if he didnt .voice actors as a whole Ive found tend to be willing to sign autographs for fans as long as you dont get too obnoxious. like asking them to sign 50 things or slide a piece of paper under the bathroom stall or something.
He will have signing sessions in our Dealer's Room! We must note that Mr. Cummings regularly charges for autographs at fandom conventions; we are still hammering out some details with him in hopes he'll be generous. Assume if you have extensive requests for things like voicemail recordings, multiple items to be signed, etc. that there will be a fee.
It's Jim Cummings. He played Darkwing Duck.
Far as I'm concerned he can charge WHATEVER the hell he wants and it would STILL be worth it!
He has EARNED that right!
Oh, we agree; we just want our attendees forewarned about the possibility of autograph charging; it has not been a thing Anthrocon Guests Of Honor have frequently done, if at all. (I think Rob Paulsen MAY have, but I cannot recall for sure. I was too busy with staff duties to meet him that year.)
I talked with Rob at AC but I didnt ask for an autograph since I had several from him at Warner Borthers studio store signings back when they used to be open (and also seeing him at SanDeigo comc con ) I`ve never paid for an autograph myself. But that may of been because of Warner Brothers compensating him (and other artists like Tress MacNeille or Jess Harnell)
YAY! My childhood it something to anthrocon lol. Can't wait it'll be great.
