Is it possible for two artists (two who know one another and have worked with one another before) share a table in Artist's Alley? I'd like to share a table with another artist and wanted to check if it was allowed.

Thanks so much! Laughing out loud

Due to Artist's Alley being often filled to the brim, with a waiting list: there is no way to guarantee that you and your friend will both have a table. It is possible that if you both do, you could ask to be seated together, and the staff *may* be able to accomodate you You could also ask nearby people just setting up if they could switch so you could sit with your friend.

If you're asking if two people can switch in and out in Artist's Alley to 'maintain' a table, then no. You'll both need to get tables of your own, separately, each day.

Actually, Artists Alley staff cannot broker who sits where; when artists sign up their names are randomized, and after the lottery the names are called in random order. While you may be able to negotiate with other artists to swap seats, please note that "saving" seats is not permitted during the seat assignment period each morning.

My recollection, in the past, was also that each "table" had room enough for just one person. So if the concern was whether you could each have a half-table, as it were, and be together, i don't think there's much point.

BTW, duncan, you aren't by any chance the same duncan living in the midwest with one takaza, are you? The one my brother, Jos, speaks so highly of?

I only ask b/c every time the subject of furries comes up, jos says, "Oh, sometime i really should introduce you to my friends, they're just the coolest ever..."

We use standard 72" x 30" tables; each artist gets half of a table for their use (hence the distinction between "seats" and "tables", y'see).

And yes, I am indeed that Duncan Smiling I assume you are referring to the Jos whose LJ username is Snorklewacker? Hee! It's a small world...

*nodnods* That's my brother. Imagine my shock when i discovered that the friend he's been saying i should meet for the last year or two is a fur i already run into off and on in this forum. *wrygrin*

Thanks for the correction on seats and tables. Somehow, i'd gotten it into my head that we didn't have a standard table size, only a standard space size, meaning that asking for a "table" was just an outmoded way of requesting a seat. But it all makes much more sense now. *grin*
