I'd take note to the pianos that are present in the Westin Hotel. I'm sure that they wouldn't mind, but I'd ask first before you start playing. Don't want to be disruptive, you know.
I've encountered some very talented furs on the piano.
I remember seeing a lot of furs playing them (If I remember correctly, were those not Grand Pianos?) last year. Some of them were not all that great at it, others had years of practice (you could tell). I specifically remember one playing "Cinco de Chocobo".

The hotel is actually pretty picky about who they let play the pianos. The guy who was playing last year went to the front desk, demonstrated his ability, and was granted permission by them. He was excellent, and it was a pleasure to have him so close to conops.
I brought my bass last year in hopes of finding or joining a jam session but it never came to fruition. If I have the space I'll bring it again so we can have a jam session. Just don't be suprised if I suck really bad; last year my cheap G10 guitar was mocked and I was personally threatened that if I ever brought it again I'd be shot on sight.

hey, if you can scratch or something through a small speaker to make things interesting (because, you know, people dressed as animals is mundane), go for it. You'd know better than me - I'm an all acoustic kind of guy.
20's? Try hundreds. And no, don't expect them to be nice about it - they're running a business, and that's how business is done in the large-scale convention trade.

Awesome! I'll try and remember that time... but feel free to remind me when you see me!
I'm still not sure what i'll bring to play, but i'll bring something.
There are usually a few people who will bring an acustic guitar or somthing. I brought mine to Further Confusion, but for the amount I took it out and actually played really wasn't worth lugging it along for me. Instead, I usually just bring a capo and a couple guitar picks and play the ones other people brought XD

Two turntables and a microphone? Er, wait, no, that's Beck... ehehe >.>
I am doubting that DJ equipment fits into this equation

Why not? You've got some neat toys! You could provide a beat and rhythm pretty easy, at least

Last year we jammed spontaneously on the roof of the convention center, bathed in blue light, and it was awesome.
I need to figure out how to get power for an amp so i can play my theremin. D:

The convention center is a bit stingy when it comes to providing power. You'd have to pay for it.

When you say "pay for power" are they nice about it or would we all have to fork over 20's? That's a comish for some artists!
