The Westin is now booked full. The only rooms that are available are corner suites; information on how to reserve a suite can be obtained here.

Update! Thanks to Jaime, the Westin is building a waiting list for people who were not quick enough to reserve before the hotel filled up. You must call the hotel directly and ask for in-house reservations. Once connected, let them know your name and the dates you are looking to stay. Please note that there is no guarantee that rooms will open up, so we still recommend that you reserve at the luxurious Omni Hotel; just don't forget to cancel any other reservations you may have made if a room at the Westin becomes available.

uncle kage, my friend Furrel (MischeviousMischeif) booked a reservation within the hotel but still has yet to get it confirmed, does this mean it didn't go through and that she doesn't have the reservation? She booked it a while back.

It's a simple matter of contacting the hotel and asking to confirm the reservation.

Does the hotel have a waiting list for rooms? (so that we can be called if a room opens up)

Good Morning

Yes, we do have a waitlist. Please call the hotel directly and ask for in-house reservations. Once connected, please let them know your name and dates you are looking to stay and they will put you on the waitlist. Please note that this is no guarantee that rooms will open up but if they do, we refer to the waitlist first.

Thank you!

I just tried calling and getting on this waiting list, but I was told on the phone that there aren't waiting lists for "full blocks".

I told the person "Thanks for your help", and hung up... but that doesn't seem to make sense to me.

Did you ask for in-house reservations? If you don't, or if you call outside of normal business hours, you'll get bumped to the national number, and they can't help you.

Try again, and if you are sure you're talking to in-house reservations and they still know nothing of a waiting list, ask to be transferred to Jaime Andrade.

Long-winded post ahoy! I have a habit of typing a lot on forums.

I also have this bad habit of dragging my heels when it comes to making hotel reservations, ugh! I still have not made one for this year (I only desire to stay in the Westin). I'm wondering what the odds of being able to get a reservation for June 23 (Monday) through July 1 (Tuesday), 8 nights, would be at this point, if I got on the waiting list. I'm just wondering if it's a massive waiting list, or if asking for such a huge block would put me on the backburner while those desiring shorter stays fill the room openings instead. :/ Or if I could be put down for what comes available and then have my reservation expanded as nights opened up... Hm. I just don't know how they'd handle it.

I managed to pull off a Tuesday to Tuesday reservation last year about a month before the con, if I recall, and then just booked Monday separately at a normal rate, outside of the Anthrocon block to get a full 8 nights. So I'm just wondering if calling with regards to the waiting list will yield me any chances of getting as close to a Monday-Tuesday (8 night) stay as possible. Yes, I make a vacation out of AC. Smiling

Of course I know calling is the best way to go, but with my work schedule (12 hour nights every shift!) I'm usually asleep during normal business hours! I'll try to make myself call at some point this week though, and hope whoever I talk to can understand what I'm asking for and hopefully help me towards that goal...

I just felt like posting on the forum as well, since I'm bored at work right now. Smiling

The odds are nearly zero. There is another very large group in just ahead of us, and they have the hotel filled up on Tuesday night. They also have a very large number of rooms booked on Wednesday. You would have to get a cancellation not only from our group, but simultaneously from the other group.

Try again at the end of April. That's when we expect most of the cancellations to occur.

It is looking very much like I will not be able to make it to Anthrocon this year. I have a reservation at the Westin with a room mate who is going to go but the room is in my name. Is there a way to trasfere the reservation to my room mate?

Call up and add your roommate's name to the reservation. He can check in, then.

Just make sure he doesn't bail on you, because you'll still be charged the deposit in April. That will be up to you and him to work out.
