Many thanks to all those who auditioned this year. There was a lot of talent and it was very difficult to pick only 10 DJs from everyone interested. Please bear in mind this list is expected to be final, but should any unforseen circumstances require changes to the line-up, they will be anounced on the Anthrocon LiveJournal community and on the Anthrocon website.
Thanks Kindly!
That is BEYOND awesome. I didn't think I'd get to come back so soon. I'm totally glad to be up again this year!

Good to be back
I shall try to deliver my best.
You not TRY you DO
I should mention that I like to play some breaks too, though they may or may not come up in my AC set.
More than anything I think you'll find that I'm developing a house obsession but I'll try to squeeze in the melodic stuff here and there
One thing is for certain - EVERYTHING will be something you can dance to!
hmm, any of these dj's have webspaces? it'd be cool to just sorta visit the webspace and be all like, "oh look, webspace ^.^"
hehe just was a passing thought was all. either way i'm excited and hopefull for the line up and lookingforward to dipping my feetpaws into the 10 course meal of bleating beats and thumping base.
I have www.protocollie.com but there's nothing there. I posted a mix in its own thread here, that's about as much learning about me as there is to be done. Draconum has one, I know, but beyond that no ideas.
Amuse-A-Kitty was home to my radio station, but is now just a placeholder for my music lists, movie reviews, and other miscellany.
Nope...no web space aside from LiveJournal.
However, if you've been to any of the previous AC dances (aside from last years, sadly), then chances are you've probably heard me mix one genre or another.
Hey all... I'll be attending AC this year for the first time and was excited when I read there will be chances to spin for 2008. I sent you guys an e mail last November and never heard anything back. As there is a list comprised already I'm assuming I'm pretty much SOL. Is there any way I can still send in a demo?
For next year, prolly.
This year's already set unless someone bails.
Fair enough... I would have like to have heard something either way though. Thanks
Hey there, I think I must have missed your e-mail, but the DJs for 2008 have been picked already. You can certainly audition for 2009 but there's no rush. The deadline is December 31st 2008
If you'd like to contact me via aim, my screen name is smblion. That's a fine alternative to e-mail.

Awesome to see such a good coverage of the different electronica genres!
Wondering if any of you guys play freestyle and dance/pop?
What kind of trance music do you guys like to play for the crowd?
I say this is because it's quite broad and consist of Tech,Classic,Acid, Goa,Psy,Progressive, Hard,Epic,Dream, Euro, Melodic and Vocal.
The secret is in you.....
I think 'trance' generally refers to anything drawing from trance roots that hovers around 130-140bpm. Generally, when people play hard, goa or psy they tend to make that clearly known as the music is quite different from the other genres, but a lot of these can mix pretty well between each other.
I'm just thinking that since all of us are into music and for those curious on the styles of music played and even the artists/titles being played. That we should rent a good sized room where music is allowed to be played and eccessable to only congoers. The idea is to give everyone a go for their music, expose people to the different genres and styles who may be new to it and sharing our collections of music for those who wish to hear it but may never get a chance to or get there paws on. lol
It's also a great time to get feedback or input from people.
Again, just a thought. It'll add more activities for others to enjoy an already interesting program.
The secret is in you.....
That would be the dances, lol.
The program i'm suggesting is to be held before the dances or other times. It came to my mind when some people had brung it up to me and else where. That people still like to hear more music or their collections or people just want to chat or talk about music in general, because the dances aren't for that purpose.
Having it after might be too late.
For those who were left out or did not get a position to spin for the dance. It gives them the chance to showcase their ability and letting congoers see/hear DJ's collectively as a whole.
Just a thought and to make things look fair : )
The secret is in you.....
I think a lot of people would resent that "to make things look fair" remark. I mean, there's only so much time at the dances and stuff.
It was fair - we all tried out, certain people were picked based on ability and practice. It's just like any musical event, if you can't prove your ability then you don't get a spot in the lineup. Ionno.
I hope I don't sound bitter, I just worked pretty hard to get my spot here.
The suggestion i thought of is for people to hang out and socialize during the con before the dances, not to compete or to audition for a spot but to share with congoers who are into music.
I have nothing against who were chosen or it's "fairness" in the decision of the DJ's or to my knowledge anyone had brung up regarding this.
Though in "fairness" and compassion there should be something for everyone to enjoy during a convention. I'd be more than happy to lease a room for this purpose if need be.
Also people stated that there should be a vote casted for the best DJ's during the con,but officials stated that this is not a competition.
Same goes for the fur suiting.
I'm sure all worked hard in trying, but there's no reason to get bitter over it?
The secret is in you.....
I'm not. I just didn't want to sound it.
Also, casting votes for best DJ would be pointless, and hurtful to a whole bunch of people. Same with fursuits.
