Hi, my name is Matthew Gerteisen, and i will be reporting to the military base in Philadelphia, PA in may. I am planning on attending AC and already have a spot in a room reserved, but i have no transportation. |
I know, putting the cart before the horse and all. Is there anyone that would be willing to give me a ride there? I would be most appreciative. I also have no problems helping with gas money!

If you are planning to leave very early on Wednesday morning, you might be able to hitch a ride with the Anthrocon convoy. There isn't room in the truck, but one or more of the folks who will be joining us that morning might be able to offer a lift.

I'm about 15 minutes west of king of Prussia, and leaving for AC on Thursday morning. If you can get a ride out my way, I should be able to help. I'm pretty sure I've seen buses coming out to the Philadelphia Premium Outlets from Philly, which is almost my backyard.

Which military base are you reporting to. I know the Navy has Willow Grove NAS and some people at the old Navy base and there is a facility in NE Philadelphia that used to be the Naval Inventory Control Point and Publications Center (I think it's been changed to a joint facility.) My son's in the Navy and I would be happy to provide a ride for a member of the armed forces.

And I might as well toss my hat into the ring. I'm heading out with the Anthroconvoy on the Wednesday morning, prolly be in the Philly area around 6 am if all goes well.
So there's yet another option.
My Saturn will be a little crowded with stuff for my dealer's table, but as long as you wouldn't be bringing multiple suitcases worth of things, you could squeeze in.

He's at Oceana NAS. However, at the time of the convention, he'll be on the Abraham Lincoln. (Oceana is near Virginia Beach, VA and is in the Norfolk/Hampton Roads area.)

Well, I'm male but people call me a variety of things. Somehow, I don't think my son would be interested in Anthrocon. Now, if it was a Warhammer convention, he would probably be very interested.

Ok, I've been looking over my mail and welcome aboard package from the command, and they have 700 Robbins Ave. listed as the address of the building, And according to the map provided, it is near Schuylkill Expressway, and is very close to the intersection of Oxford Ave. and Roosevelt Boulevard. Does that information help you any?
