Steve Gerber, creator of Howard the Duck, Thundarr the Barbarian has died

He had been suffering from pulmonary fibrosis for a while.

Ooo... pulmonary fibrosis. That's bad. Usually the only hope of a cure from that is a lung transplant. Basically, your lungs slowly turn to inflexible fibrous tissue.

It's one of those insideous conditions which still has poorly understood origins, and thus is very hard to treat.
