Rooms available at the Doubletree Pittsburgh Hotel!
|
Doubletree to the Rescue! We have a block of rooms ready for reserving at the Doubletree Pittsburgh Hotel, just two blocks away! Only $119 per night (plus tax) for up to four people, and $169 for a one-bedroom parlor suite with a foldout sofabed. To make your reservation, just visit this handy link. A deposit equal to one night's stay is due at the time of reservation (not later on, as with our main hotels). That deposit is non-refundable if the reservation is canceled, and would be applied to the stay upon checkout. The Doubletree has a 7-11 convenience store right in the lobby (and it is really open 7-11!). They have complimentary wireless in all rooms and in all public areas, an indoor pool with saunas, and -- for those who don't like to walk -- a complimentary shuttle to the convention center that will spare you the 6-8 minute walk if you are footsore at the end of the day. If you already have made a reservation at the Doubletree, a simple phone call would be all it would take to move your reservation into Anthrocon's new block and get the less expensive rate. Note for our attendees who smoke: We do not have any smoking rooms officially in our room block, but that doesn't mean you can't get one. Just go ahead and reserve a non-smoking room, then all it takes is a quick phone call to the hotel to change your room to a smoking room. If you have any difficulties, contact us and we'll see if we can help. Anthrocon is very proud to add the Doubletree to its list of convention hotels! They have been very enthusiastic about our little gathering and are looking forward to helping make our third year in Pittsburgh the most comfortable yet. |

thanks kage... I went for a regular room.
I wanted a upgraded suite, until some a*hole in terrorist-land decided to book a flight with Empirates using my card info. Some terrorists are trying to steal from me. someone Are the rooms on the same floor with each other or are they just whatever DT has available?
>:/ I'm trying to get the same room for an extra couple days, guess I'll have to play by ear upon checkout of the AC reservation.
Thanks ^_^ I really like the DT for a hotel, glad AC makes agreements with various hotels.

With the deepest of respect, please don't use terms like this on the forum. It really bothers me.

Probably not since if they were pathological liars then odds are they wouldn't be telling the truth. (Or would they? O_o)

Hopefully I'm doing this right but... Is there a second discount for military as well or will just the cheaper of the two be given? Clicking it either way, hopefully it won't skrew anything up ^^;

I don't know what (if any) the military discount is, but you are allowed to take advantage of one or the other. All hotel special rates have "not valid in combination with any other offer" somewhere in the fine print.
Also, if you choose the military rate, your room won't count toward Anthrocon's commitment to the hotel.

permalinkIt seems that the Doubletree's order form is no longer offering the reduced rate rooms - the cheapest available following the link given is $209/night:
INTERNET BEST RATE BEST UNRESTRICTED RATE (more)
209.00 USD 2 DOUBLE BEDS-NONSMOKING
Can anyone shed some light on the situation?
Thanks,
Varka

Our block has filled up again. I've sent an email to see how many more rooms we can add.

permalinkFantastic - just completed booking, it went through fine.
For everyone else's information, only "2 DOUBLE BEDS NONSMOKING" rooms are available. the kingsize+sofabed option is gone.
Still, $119 a night!

permalinkFilled up our block again? Dang, if this con gets any larger you'll have a true furry army of doom with which to take over France.
You make the surrounding hotels oh so happy, I'd bet. You're bringing them so much business every year.

The hotels, as well as the local business establishments. We are recognized as a significant asset to the city's economy.
That's something Philadelphia could never quite recognize. Their loss.
