Ghost-y Type Stuff

I figured I'd post this here, since I wasn't quite sure where to put it up. Anyhoo...I've been listening recently to the archives of a Podcast I really enjoy called "The Ghost Chronicles", put on by two people of the New England Ghost Project. SO! What I was wondering is, has anyone at AnthroCon wanted to have a small gathering (not necessarily a panel, since it's not *really* furry stuff) to talk about paranormal stuff, EVP, Orbs, and the like? Because I personally think it'd be way cool to maybe meet up with some furs from around the U.S. (and the world for those of you who don't mind hanging out with an American with only rusty, spotty Spanish as my world-culture Edit: (03-18-08) http://www.anthrocon.org/node/2205 Saw this posted just a few minutes ago and figured, if we're going to be meeting up for a dinner or something to talk about these Paranormal things, we can use Steel City Diner, since they'll be going 24 hours for the convention! |

), and chat about such things, maybe bring along some stuff you've captured on tape or film to share with the group.

I find stuff like that happens best somewhere around a diner at 3am. I'd be up for hanging out.

Very cool--I'm hoping to go out either on my own or with some of the other folks from my campus here locally and see if I can't capture some EVP's or orbs or something on camera...we have a few good legends here in Kansas--so I'd like to see if I can find something.

I've always had a fondness for the paranormal... but I tend to tune things out when people start talking about orbs. That's one of the reasons I don't watch Most Haunted anymore.

I definatly believe in the spooky-natural after an incident I was in... >.=.>; if it's not too late or conflicted with my schedule I could probably make it.

I was thinking of maybe meeting up for lunch or dinner--maybe not really doing anything big. I must admit I don't know my way around the city, so I'd need some kind souls to help me >.>
But cool--we can figure it out once it gets closer and see when/where we want to meet up...If anyone has a suggestion of when, since Venus Bunny mentioned Tom's Diner, we could just assume that, unless transportation is an issue for anyone.

I'm a skeptic! Rar!
But I do watch "Ghost Hunters" alot. At least they take a little time to debunk some of the stuff often mistaken for ghosts, though their ghost 'detection' methods are quite non-scientific.
EMF fields are everywhere, and fluctuate greatly over short distances, for instance. Finding a low-level EMF field is meaningless. I can find them all over the place.
It does give me good ideas on how to scare people to the point where they'll pee their pants, however. >:}
I do have a few events I've witnessed which I can't explain. Not orbs (which are almost always just dust particles very close to the camera) or rods (which were proven to be just fast-flying bugs getting 'stretched-out' on video cameras not suited to keep up with their movements. No, my events are selected on the basis that I, as a scientist with a well-established tendancy to doubt even my own eyes, can still make neither heads nor tails of them.
We shall see what can be demonstrated!

Just so long as you play nice with all us paranormal geeks
, we'd be glad to have you along to trade stories and (perhaps this is the best term) play devil's advocate in a way.

Sure will! We just have to come to a decision--but I don't know when all the cool stuff goes on at AC, since I've never been before, so I don't want to pull anyone away from something they really want to attend.
