It is that time, ladies, gentlemen, and miscellaneous biological and non-biological organisms who are gathered around, for a notice from your significantly off-kilter and probably tetched but generally pretty friendly Dealer's Room Staff.

As of today, March 16, 2008, the Anthrocon Dealer's Room is

SOLD OUT!!!

Please note that this is not an indication that all dealers have been processed. The decision was made amongst senior Dealer's Room staff to close the window based on current availability and the number of applications still on hand and unprocessed. We are running behind, and for that I apologize greatly (I do the majority of applications and assignment myself), though with this milestone in place response time should improve. I am only one...I dunno if you'd call me a "man", but I've got no better words.

Many of you may note that this is coming much sooner than last year, and that's for a variety of reasons--dealers are mailing in sooner than ever before, and there's a lot of new blood in the room. There's also a lot of expansion, with dealers growing to use larger table sizes. It's inevitable, and it's a good sign--growth is good!

Now don't fret or sweat or kick your feet against The Machine (it really hates that) just yet! There are always cancellations and changes all the way up to the very day of the event, so it doesn't hurt to send in your application at this point in the game. Just know that you are on the waiting list to get a table, and while the staff will do our very best to get you into the room, we can't make any guarantees whatsoever.

Dealers who are sure we got your application but did not receive a notification: please please please email the dealer's staff and tell us so! While there shouldn't be nearly the problems we found last year with AOL and Hotmail (we dumped the service that was causing issues last year), we're as typo-prone as any soul and what you meant to be an "c" may just come across as a "e" to our eyes. If you have any questions on the status of your application, please email the dealer's staff right away to have them cleared up. Please note, the Anthrocon General Forum is not a recommended way to have issues resolved. The staff can only check it so often, and we'd really not want things to get lost. Email is the single best way to make sure we see your questions or concerns and quickly!

But enough of that! Looking forward to seeing you in June, folks! There's gonna be some really groovy swag for you hep cats, so bring your friends Ben, Andy, and Abe!

Does this mean next year we'll be leaving Hall C for the larger and somewhat closer Hall B?

It means we're using more of Hall C this year. It's big enough to allow us to add more tables to both the Dealers Room and Artists' Alley.

Tiny reminder: you'll both need separate sales tax licenses and you'll need to make sure to inform the dealers' room director before sharing a table!

Yes I've already got my sellers permit already its just I was waiting on my SSDI to come in since I can't work and have no money at this time. I've been working and talking to Sonicblu to get things situated.

Its nice to meet you uncle Kage. I hope to get a chance to meet you even if only breifly. I'm a fan of yours.

your talking to some one who sits at home all day and looks up anything and everything he can while writing books just because he is disabled and incapable of working. I loved your show man eating turnstiles of Paris. when Niamaza showed it to me I was rolling on the floor.

This is why we press and press firmly that getting your application in early is the best approach. The timeframe has been substantially more open in 2006 and 2007 as the room and its prospective tenants adjusted from the cramped days of the Adam's Mark and the Wyndham, but that's over now (so this year seems to indicate) and speed is once again of the essence.

Apply early, check in often, especially if you have specific requirements such as power, wall space, large table allotments, or specific assignment requests. These become difficult to accommodate very quickly, so waiting generally means settling for what's available.

And on another point, we have not received an application from SonicBlu.

Well at least one more dealer will be able to get in. I was not able to secure time off from work so notice was sent earlier today relinquishing the table space for Rivercoon Arts. I'm sure someone will put the table to good use.

For those who hoped to see me there I can just suggest going to my web site or checking out my auctions on FurBid, FurBuy and Ebay.
