Yeah, it's a shame. Some people are just so close-minded and sour, they don't bother to understand animals. I still feel that they should be under some sort of protective issue.
I love animals and all but the bottom line is animals fight, hurt and kill other animals for encroaching on territory. Essentially, it's the same concept only we're sick enough to have fun while we're doing it.
I mean, yeah, it's sad. In the same vein though, it's nature. We just like to think like somehow we're outside of nature and thereby have some moral obligation to protect all the fuzzies.
Thats not quite right. Most people hunt the animals not be cause of territory, but because they just enjoy it. And we are extremely efficient at it. One pack of wolves might be able to take down a single deer or two, while one hunter could take down 3 or four.
Actually I think that's wrong. My opinion is that we're humans and we're SMART enough to not kill animals. Animals don't have the kind of minds we do. We should know better to stop senseless killing.
*frown* well instead of meaningful comments, most just give their opinion.
There aren't many places in the continental US where there are sustainable wolf populations. Sure you'll see wolves in Michigan, and in other places. There are wolves here in Alaska, some which have grouped together to fend for themselves. I don't know where fish and game gets their numbers, there have been many studies done on wolf populations. Google for "Wolf populations in the US" to find out more information on the topic.
The normal BS some rep from fish and game will give this, "If we don't have any wolf control in place, then the population will boom." This is true, but it would take years for the population to boom in the way they're speaking. It has to do with food sources for the wolves. The more food sources the higher chances of increased population. There are other factors of course but I think it is one of the main issues surrounding wildlife manangement.
I don't see why people won't introduce more wolves and increase the health of populations. Increasing the predator population might put humans at right, but it would limit for example the deer population. I'm sure many are tired of seeing deer hit left and right in the continental. There are just so many deer, it is out of control.
Sure, we can eat the deer, but nobody is since they can pick up food at the local store. There needs to be a higher population of predators so the overpopulated animals can be under control
I tend to listen to hard cold facts instead of meaningless opinion. Show me the research data, not only the numbers, show me the materials used in the research. Show me the definitions set by the experiement to show how the results were concluded.

Not tired enough, at least in Western New York, to deal with 'lost' pets or pay higher taxes to cover government compensation to dairy farmers for lost cows. The unfortunate fact is that humanity is the only predatory species we have that will leave certain species alone when we tell them to.

We've got some black bear back in NJ, but they don't eat the deer fast enough! And then there's the billions of Canada geese pooping everywhere.
Ugh, we definitely need more preds in NJ. They can also eat the Trenton politicians. No one will complain about that after the next round of tax hikes hits. >:}

You just need to dress up like a sheep. It always works on the TV shows that I watch.

Probably the easiest issue to truly get my fur ruffled. It makes me ill to see innocent animals killed simply because of ignorance.
And people ask me why I hate humankind.

So you're saying that everyone's opinions aren't meaningful?
