Furries versus Zombies
|
|
I don't know when they'll get me. I can feel them watching me during the day, when I eat, when I walk to class, when I go to clubs. They know where I am, they know where I sleep, they know all my friends. They want to feed... For those who aren't familiar, this is humans versus zombies! I'm currently playing here at school, and it's been a blast to tag people and see who's involved in this game! (You can find the Wikipedia link for more information.) Currently, I'm wondering if the directors might be open to hosting an adaptation of HvZ -- Furries versus Zombies -- at Anthrocon this year with a small bunch of people (maybe two or three dozen). It's a great way to meet completely new people, can be a con-exploring event, and otherwise be a lot of fun! I'd love to hear back from any of the staff for this year on their input and thoughts, even if it might be possible for the future, if not this year! |

Sound Like fun
Rules dont seem that cxomplicated
Can the Zombies Run?
Yet you gotta ask if we can bring small projectiles with us...Like nerf guns

No water pistols, silly string, or any other projectile-type toy may be used in any public area of the hotel or Convention Center. --from the Anthrocon Standards of Conduct. So, no. And running in the halls would be an unwise idea.

What about laser tag? The guns don't really look like guns, they tend to be pretty cartoony in appearance, and there are no projectiles or visible discharges of any kind.
HvZ is fun to play with laser tag, and I know some furs in the area who have plenty of gear for a decent number of players

permalinkFor the amount of money on those things, you might as well invest in airsoft.

But Airsoft is not a Covenant plasma weapon.

But Airsoft hurts, and fires projectiles. Laser Tag is much more palatable to wusses who still want to play soldier
Oh, and Sivi, the second link you posted is what I had in mind, and I know some furs who have enough gear to equip like 12 people, and they live in Pittsburgh

permalinkI agree. Given the high-volume and density of traffic, running and projectiles are probably not a good idea. But, pending possible consideration of this game, I'm sure modifications can be made to accommodate a con environment.

Well if we can (which is highly unlikely) we could try to find a controlled area to play this game but What are the chances of that actually happening
Just a thought

An easy modification is as follows
Zombies wear blue tags of some kind(Get some reflective blue duct tape and ducttape two pieces together back to back, tucked into their pants pocket and hanging out so its easy to see
Humans/Furries wear the same, but Orange(Or whatever colours).
No running
And you just yank each others tags out. No muss, no fuss, no projectiles in a closed space.
