If you plan to have a party at the Westin...
|
...it is important that we reiterate the rules regarding parties. Naturally our attendees want to get together and chat after hours, but please remember that we cannot set up "quiet floors" and "party floors." That means that all floors are "quiet floors." Any noise must be kept to a minimum, and gatherings may not spill out into the hallways. After all, other folks are trying to sleep. If you want to have a party without such restrictions, though, we have a suggestion... Party organizers this year will be allowed to lease Anthrocon function space in the Westin after hours (approximately 10 PM to 4 AM). The following rules would apply:
If you are interested, contact jaime.andrade(at)westin.com directly for details. Otherwise, if you have friends over, you need to keep all the noise within the confines of the room. Treat it as though the chairman is sleeping next door...because you never know, he might be. |

*Charles enters, looking rather stuffy and snooty* I shall be having a rather boisterous tea party with Miss Mab, I expect, with international varieties of tea as well as common favorites.
No Orange Pekoe, though. We're not THAT wild and crazy.

Are you the folks who did the tea party at FurFright? That was excellent.

Well, if you're at the Omni (as I believe Mab was last year), all bets are off . . .

Amen, Kage.
Last year, the "partygoers" kept a poor exhausted gryphoness (who had been up at 4am to get to AC in time to set up for the Art Show) up for FAR too many hours that first night. It made for a VERY cranky fur, who doesn't remember much of the weekend due to being so tired. That's no fun.
It's usually a *very* long drive for me to get to AC- this year is going to be the longest yet! (1000+ miles) I dunno about others, but I need sleep to drive. Fatigue + long road trip = disaster.
Some of us get up at 5-6 AM every morning, and we try to be considerate of those who sleep in. Please return the favor and everyone will be able to enjoy the con!

permalink....and because NO ONE wants to be tracked down by Mandark-possessed-by-Cthulhu in a lab suit and melted down and sent to hell via roach bile to the eyes. Just NOT a fun way to go.
Actually, that's a really cool idea. if anyone takes it up, and is amenable to some random partygoers, possible we could get a posting somewhere of it on the site or at AC? I'm sure there's about half of us awake at that hour, and anyone who's NOT at our friendly, local, newly-24 hour diner will probably be either sitting up, looking for something to do, or there already.
