So I've looked at a few websites for good accessories for my fursuit, ya know like...cool vests, cool collars etc... but I was just wondering where everybody else bought their stuff. I'm just preparing abd getting ready the stuff i'll need before my suit gets done in May. Thx, |

Some of us make our own 'stuff'. I already drew out the design for my leather armoring for my fursuit. Nothing fancy, just some ankle, wrist, and a body strap using a hide and some strong leather string.
I'm also making my own shirt for the suit, kind of like what you would think "hawaian shirt" without buttons. I found the most interesting fabrics today and will start sewing once I've the body suit finished.
It may be hard to buy clothes for a fursuit if there is any type of chest building, wings, or any other obstruction.

A fursuit accessory I think would be a good idea is to get sandals, or something of the sort to protect the footpaws. I've seen some made out of rubber camping mat and dog collars.
If you plan on doing a lot of walking outside of the building, then I believe paw protection is in order!

permalinkA lot of furs will recommend you stay away from such devices. Apparently they create cold spots on your body that, when you start getting hot from performing, may cause you to feel ill. A lot of fursuiters use computer fans strategically mounted in the headpiece to create a cooling breeze for the wearer.
Actually this thread probably belongs in the "Fursuit Construction" Forum

im putting a trench coat on mine i think for your fursuit a cool looking collar that has engravers of your fursuit name. also i might add a vest that has extention length so it kind looks like sleveless trench coat.... Wow that reminded me of the matrix a bit XD

It's a wonderful idea, and I hope it continues for many years to come.

I'm not completely sure what you're looking for. I assume that you mean "accessories" that are designed to cool a person while wearing a costume. Most of the costumers that I know don't wear any active cooling devices, although some wear a dive skin that can help with cooling.
However, I found this list of links to companies that sell cooling devices. This is a list compiled in the Fursuit FAQ on Fursuit.org.

permalinkActually, I find a walking cane is a USEFUL thing to have. Visibility in a head is usually bad and the cane comes in handy esp. on stairs and escalators. Make sure it's a showy cane that adds onto your fursona and not just a medical cane. I've found my wolf's head walking cane goes real well with a purple zoot-suited Lion.

Glowsticks, and LOTS of them. xD
Glowsticks look pretty awesome, but they also add on a degree of safety. One such example is if you have a dark-colored suit, and you attend the nightly dance, chances are not too many people are going to see where you are at since all the lights are turned off minus the stage lighting. But throw in a few bright glowsticks, and BAM! You'll be as visible as a lighthouse. Hope that helps. ^_^
