....what can I expect if I go to AC'08, Granted, if I go with a fursuit? How many people are expected to show. From what will the event open until it closes? And most important of all, how many fursuiters are expected to show? Oh, I might bring my sketch book featuring a comicbook I am making..there is some anthropomorphic material but not a typical furry theme. So yes, there will be blood;p

Heh, well actually your question has been asked quite a few times. You just gotta search around. Eye-wink

However, I'll gladly give you some info, from what I can remember.

You should (from what I've heard) expect a lot of fun from AC '08, as long as you do your best to enjoy it. ^_^

As far as how many people are expected to show, I heard that there was over 2300+ attendees and 400+ were fursuiters. Or is it 2300+ AND 400+? I can't remember.

I believe that the event starts at 10am? It's around the morning-afternoon timeslot, IIRC, for when registration opens up.

And, as far as your sketchbook, I do believe that there have been worse drawings drawn and presented/sold at the gallery, mostly in the adult section, so you shouldn't have to worry about anything. Eye-wink

Hope that helps.

Last year, we had 2,849 attendees and 353 fursuiters in the fursuit parade.

The official answers were already given.

As another attendee, I'll throw in a few of my own.

What can you expect?
There's a lot of events scheduled across the entire convention.
You will probably find 2-3 times as many events you WANT to attend as you have
TIME to attend. That means you're more likely to have a good time.
It's a convention, so there's all sorts of panels and discussion groups and so on.

You do NOT need a fursuit. More than 80% of the attendees-including me- will not be
wearing fursuits. Furry =\= fursuiter, and furry convention goer =\= fursuiter.

There's a LOT of people who like art who show up. Bring any sketchbook you want.

Well, if your fursuit is a dragon expect to be pounced by a little red dragon.

Well if this is your first con and you want to bring your fursuit go ahead and do so! Alot of fursuiters show up each year and we love just walking around, interacting with people, posing for pictures and of course going to different dances!

And bring your sketchbook as well! Alot of people do and hang out in the Zoo during the off hours and sketch and talk with different people.
